MoRA of Unity.

Who I am

When I ran for delegate, I wrote this: "I am first and foremost a believer in “Librarian” politics, but who else am i? I am a young leader, not just in the NationStates world, but in the offline world as well. I have experience in various roles of leadership in the offline world, and would like to take what i have learned from those experiences to this region. My ultimate goal in life is to be somebody who works in politics, i am a passionate person with passionate beliefs. I believe in civil debates, town halls, and being nice to your political opponents. I think that most arguments can be solved by calm conversation, and that if you yell or pull rank then you’ve already lost. I think that most of the issues in the region that divide us can be solved without toxicity." I am including this here because nothing has changed, and I am still the person with the same beliefs I had then, now.

Specific plans for areas of the ministry

INTEGRATION

Integration is the thing I care most about in the region, I have spent my political career here being an advocate for new users. I on my own initiative introduced many new players to the assembly, and have helped many others with finding the information they wanted or needed to be a valued member of the region. One of my primary political NS beliefs is that the key to having a large, well-functioning group is by making the new users feel wanted and needed. If I am to become MoRA I hope to increase new user activity through interest in the regional assembly, I plan to do this in three ways: 1. Working with the CoA to make fun events for legislators including joke bills and parliamentary competitions. 2. Stressing the importance of the assembly in conversations held with new users in the interest of integration. 3. Flexing relentlessly on those not in the assembly (/s). The assembly is the "carrot" of the region, and all integration efforts should be foucused on the end result being the addition of new members to the assembly, this is beneficial to the region and the newly enfranchised users.

JOURNALISM

The Southern Journal is the area in the ministry that has the most potential to be very active. Everybody in the region can write, and be a part of the Journal if they were to want. If I were to become MoRA one of my goals will be to have regular Journal publications and increase productivity in this area. I plan to do this in the two following ways: 1. By promoting the content of the Journal to be read by people in the region, and 2. By encouraging people who are interested and people with writing ability to produce content for the Journal.

EVENT PLANNING

I dont plan on being very active in this department due to the shortened length of the term and the plans already laid down by the Prime Minister. My main goal in this department is to ensure the already established plans go as smoothly as possible, and I intend to achieve this by working with the advisory council and other senior members of the Ministry to thoroughly plan and bring the events into fruition. One event that I would like to bring about would be "Mock Assembly" to help increase assembly fun and participation, but this is secondary to the already established plans for the Ministry.

ARTISTS

The artists division of the Ministry are a very important part of Regional Affairs Ministry, but it's also something that is different from all the other parts because it is somewhat exclusionary- The ability to graphically design something is not only a very finetuned art, it also sometimes costs money for the software to do so. I certainly dont have the skills that the people in this division do. My goal here is to continue to foster the hard work the artists do, while working to maintain the numbers of artists. I dont think a large recruiting effort would be effective do to the nature of the work but it is something that can happen on a small case by case basis. Overall my two goals for this division are: 1. Maintain or grow the number of artists, and 2. Find a way to not only incentivize graphic production, but also reward reliable artists. There's several ways to do this, but the way I like most is offering regional currency to artists for their work. Besides currency or other incentives one thing that will encourage artists is respect, and a culture of mutual respect.

ROLEPLAY

I dont like roleplay, never have never will, so im gonna take a more clinical approach to this. The people on this game and in this region generally like roleplay, and it has the potential to draw new users and future legislators in. By having roleplay events geared towards recruiting and population growth we can use roleplay as a tool for the region. Im going to be more hands off in this area, and allow people who like roleplay or have more experience to work in this division. My personal goal for this division is to use roleplay to increase regional participation.

(A NOTE)

Hey, I'm glad you are campaigning! I think a competitive race generally helps players do better Smile

You've been pretty honest and I appreciate that. For a very long time we've discussed time and time again how every RA Minister picks and chooses a focus. No Minister can do it all, or has done it al, and it's probably why we need to split the Ministry (especially thinking of how absolutely no one has been able to really coordinate with our RP community for some time now and either Journalism or something else like Integration has fallen by the wayside for over two years).

I think you should def. discuss more how you have encouraged gamesiders and new players to join the forums because that is an area you are skilled at.  In fact, reaching out to the disaffected or more marginalized regional population seems to be a talent you have that could really be useful in integration and welcoming.

Since you don't plan to focus on events or maybe journalism, how would you utilize the council to help you in this area?

Hope you feel better!

Also what is one strength of your opponent (totes missing Omega who usually does these <3)?

I dont plan on focusing on events and roleplay, I plan on working on Integration and Journalism mostly with a side of Art production. I will have senior officials who are interested in roleplay work on events that can be used for integration and comradery, but I cant imagine doing a whole lot else in that division. For events I plan on following the directives laid down by the PM and again working with people who have an interest in this division who also have experience.

Prarie is a player who I can say takes the initiative, I fully respect him and what he has done for this region. In my view of this region's class structure me and prarie are of the same class, so I view any result that isnt RON as a political win for myself. I respect prarie so much that I intend to have him be a big part of my ministry if I were to win.

Now this is an honest campaign that speaks to me!
It is heartwarming to see that you think of those who are trembling a bit at the thought of taking an active part of the Assembly Wink

what have you done for RA in the past? You are running against an incumbent candidate who has a RA history
What are some things you did for TSP? (Besides pass a law, which you can elaborate on too)
