Serres, a Prime Minister Campaign
#1

Hello TSP, welcome to my Prime Minister campaign. I'll be the first to say that it is crazy to see me running for anything other than MoMA during election season, however a lot has changed since last term and I want to get into the reasons why I'm running for this post instead of that one asap, so let's get those CoI's out of the way:

Past/Current Organizations and Affiliations
  • TSP Legislator, Ambassador, Cabinet Adviser, and Minister of Foreign Affairs
  • SPSF Soldier, and Officer
Past and Current Alias's (CoI's)
  • Serres, or some variation usually prefaced by my appropriate title (Ambassador, Officer, Minister, ect.)
  • Northe, my NS family name. (founded a few months ago some recognizable TSPers that are members would be Prarie and TSSS)
Aah, feels nice, now on to the actual campaign: During my time as cabinet adviser, and then following that interim MoFA, I spent alot of time observing the cabinet and trying to figure out for myself, and in order to better serve the region, where I would best fit into it in the future. After restructuring and updating both the Foreign Affairs server (Discord), and the Foreign Affairs Sub forum (TSP Forums) I got into the real meat and potatoes of the position, working with our allies and my fellow Ministers to build and grow TSP in the ways we were best equipped to do so.

During this time it became clear that our cabinet was not a cohesive team but instead a collection of separate, albeit talented, individuals. My primary goal moving in to next term is to avoid this by bringing the cabinet together in three decisive ways:
  • Unity
  • Communication
  • Security
Beginning with Unity we are going to break down what each of those points mean:

As MoFA it was my primary objective to maintain a consistent and reliable line of communication between us and GP one that was not contradicted by members of my MoFA Team, The Cabinet, or myself. As Prime Minister refocusing that mindset to specifically target The Cabinet as a whole will be a huge priority for me. Our Cabinet should have clear goals and every member should publicly advocate and support those goals in order to ensure confidence in the Cabinet and by extension, TSP. By having a consistent and non contradictory message we reaffirm ourselves as an organized and professional group worthy of leading TSP into the next term, and even beyond.

In order to achieve this, in depth discussions will be had within cabinet only chat rooms regarding how to move forward on policy and approach every major issue before handing them off to their respective Ministries to be implemented and tackled. The key word in this statement is of course 'major' as I do not plan to hold every Minister's hand with every little issue that comes up. Directly influencing every decision made within a ministry would be overstepping the bounds of The Prime Minister post.

Now, my second step to leading The Cabinet into being a cohesive team is of course Communication. This refers to two types of communication: Communication between Cabinet Members and Communication between the Cabinet and TSP. As for the former it will be my expectation that every Cabinet Member let myself and the other members know what is going on in their Ministry as new policy and planning is developed and implemented. This is of course coming from a place of genuine interest. Not only will this practice assist us in both having a consistent message (the previous point) but it will also aid The Cabinet in having an accurate message. We should be fully aware of what our fellow Ministers are doing in order to ensure we as Cabinet Ministers have a firm grasp of the events happening all across TSP no matter how minor.

The latter type of communication Cabinet - Outside Cabinet Communication. This is extremely important, in fact, I would say just as important as inter Cabinet Communication. TSP deserves to know what is going on in the region and I can objectively say that Cabinet - region communication has been terrible in this last term. This why, in order to re instill the importance of this it will be my top priority as Prime Minister to ensure that Announcements of major policy changes and the conclusion of major issues are announced to the TSP public. At this time I am more comfortable with Discord announcements and will be focused on those. However, I am completely open to the idea of posting cabinet updates for major events Region side as well. This will be one of the first things I discuss with the cabinet should I be elected. As for a schedule, I can not give you one. The nature of Cabinet policy is erratic and unpredictable; in the next five minutes a major ally could unexpectedly declare the entire region of TSP proscribed and we would have to tackle that. However, under my leadership the moment our statement and policy to any issue or event gets to the point where it can be publicly released in a professional and clear manner, it will be released.

Finally, security. To be completely honest this last point is intentionally misleading. A writing strategy meant to keep your attention to the end of my campaign. Extremely diabolical. This is referring to a problem we have faced recently: Under staffing. Due to the events of the last eight months our region has been left without a large portion of its skilled and veteran members leaving us understaffed everywhere. This under staffing issue is something I have been very vocal about in higher level discussion channels and am now tackling publicly. There are several examples of veteran members holding two, three, or sometimes even four major positions across the region. This is unacceptable for a number of reasons but the largest of those is of course over working our veterans. Without properly educated and skilled young blood to fill positions in the coming years, TSP's current member pool is going to eventually burn out. We have to avoid this. So for the security of our regions future one of the primary goals I and the Cabinet under me will be pushing forwards on is the training and inclusion of established yet still green members of the region. To this end any Cabinet updates I post will serve also as recruitment posts inviting legislators to get involved in the ministries actively and inviting citizens to become legislators and begin getting a handle on the advanced areas of the game. It is my term goal to ensure that we have a diverse and talented pool to pull from for the next election cycle so we can avoid forcing members that already hold 3+ high level positions feeling they have to run to ensure The Cabinet is competent and organized.

With that we have my closing statement. TSP has a bright future ahead of it if under proper and organized leadership. It is my goal to ensure that this is the case so that our region can continue to be the best damn feeder in all of NS. I thank you, the legislators for your time in reading my campaign and I hope that following these elections we can move forward as a region in a positive and proactive way.

I now open the floor to questions.

I've no questions at the moment. I just wanted to say that this is a solid campaign.

Thank you very much Amerion. I have done a ridiculous amount of thinking on just what is best for TSP right now and I truly stand by everything my campaign says. We need cohesive and team oriented leadership moving forward if we are going to be able to revive what we've lost in recent terms as a region. My focus is completely zoned in on that goal.

I take it, despite your preferences, that forum announcements will also be made, in conjunction with Discord?

I am glad to see you raise this issue. Our RMB is bloody active and there are no doubt many talented people residing Region-side in TSP. The issue has been attracting them to the forum and to serve in government. I am most impressed by Viet's (and others) SWAN iniative as well as IoU's perseonal outreach last election in mobilising people. I hope a coherent strategy can be built on their efforts.

1: Yes actually forum announcements and updates are something I am planning in conjunction with the other announcement areas. I will be taking advantage of the following thread : http://tspforums.xyz/thread-5266.html

Something that has been neglected ever since Roavin finished his term a PM. Something that will be corrected if I am elected lol.

2: agreed! I hope to combine the ideas in both of those programs to get more people than ever into the more advanced parts of TSP. (Referring to the forum with this)
