Resident Spotlight: Zinnwaldite
#1

I was approached by Zinnwaldite on my way to the Government House. He was dressed as an owl, his national mascot, and insisted that I interview him for the Resident Spotlight. Since he kept poking and staring at me, I agreed and took him to the House. There he answered a few revealing questions.

1. Welcome to NationStates! How did you learn about it?

I actually learned about it a few years ago when a friend recommended it to me, but I forgot about it after playing it for a few months (there wasn't really anything interesting going on). I came back to it a few weeks ago when another friend recommended it, and I'm enjoying it!

2. I assume that your nation was created in the South Pacific and that you received tons of recruitment telegrams. What made you stay here?

Because you just gave me information! You weren't trying to be particularly persuasive or obscure as with some telegrams, so I took you seriously and decided investigate further. I really liked your forum system and your democracy, and therefore stuck with the region.

That's awesome! I'm so glad that you liked the region. Make sure to get involved and you will have an ever better time! Smile

3. What can you tell us about your NationStates experience so far? Is there anything you look forward to?

It's been generally positive! I've enjoyed making my nation slightly quirky, and am working on more factbook entries in order to provide some lore behind my fair nation.

I'm sure we would all like to read your factbook. Make sure to advertise it on the RMB once it's finished!

4. What is the significance behind the name 'Zinnwaldite'?

I'm not exactly the most imaginative of people, and so went looking on wikipedia for some unusual colours for my flag. I decided to go with Zinnwaldite, partially because no-one took it, but also because it's a gemstone, which I thought might be a good idea for some nation lore.

Good thinking. You do seem imaginative enough to me.

5. Our Delegate is the head of state of the region. If you were Delegate for a day, what would you do? (Abusing your power and becoming a corrupt dictator is a perfectly valid option!)

I would submit a resolution forcing people to wear man-sized condoms permanently in order to reduce the spread of disease (I'm slightly OCD). It would probably be passed instantly!

Huh... [Image: Oo.gif]

6. Can you share with us a bit about your interests outside NationStates?

I do a variety of slightly unusual sports such as Squash, as well as being a qualified White-Water Kayaker (you need a qualification in the UK where I live to access artificial whitewater courses). I recently built my own PC after 2 years of saving, and has been an amateur competitive gamer in games such as Forza Motorsport 4, Hearthstone (Where I won a national tournament), and most recently, Dota 2.

You built your own PC? That is pretty cool!
And you won a national tournament?!

7. What are your favourite books, movies, songs, or games?

A tough one! For books, I think it has to be the manga series of "Maximum Ride" books. I'm not much of a bookworm, but I love manga and comics! As for songs, I don't really have one - I love lots! I especially like the EDM genre, and I'm currently listening to Fox Stevenson. As for movies, I love animated ones such as Toy Story and Rio, but I also enjoy thrillers such as The Hunt for Red October. Finally, for games, it has to be Tropico 5 at the moment - It's so funny!

I've always wanted to watch The Hunt for Red October. How good is it?

8. Cake or Pie? (There is only one right answer!)

Cake Flavoured Pie is the good stuff - I've had it before!

Fair enough... :dodgy:

9. You are given a lampshade. What do you do next?

*puts a lampshade on Kringalia's head*

*points to Zinnwaldite*
This guy knows what he's doing.

Is there anything you would like to add?

1+1=2. 2+2=4. 4+4=8. That is all.

Nothing like a good math class.
Thanks to Zinnwaldite for a great interview! I hope we see keep seeing you around here in the future. Smile

I'm actually more worried about 2+2=4. Everyone knows 2+2=5.
