What FiHami Needs To Know About the Passport Exam Act 2019

In response to reports of a bar fight overseas where two FiHami tourists were detained, Ha'Coron' Finix has drafted and signed a mandate into law that, when it takes effect next month, will change the way FiHami tourists will travel. Here's what we know.

1. You will have to take an exam before you're allowed to travel overseas.

Before, all you needed to do to get a passport for your travel plans was go to the government building and request a passport, for a F30 fee (USD $3). They would then print it out and hand it to you. You could then use the number to book a F50,000 (USD $5,000) dollar sea transport, or take a plane for F5,000 (USD $500) to your destination. However, starting next month, before you can request your passport, you have to take a 10hr total class over international etiquette and pass the course with a 90%. At the end of the course you will also have to take an exam and pass that with a 90%. Upon presenting the official report card and the exam certificate, you will then be allowed to request your passport for a F100 fee. It is unknown as to whether there will be support for illiterate FiHami citizens.

2. If you get in trouble overseas, your passport will be restricted for 5 years, where you have to complete a 60 hr course and attend counseling services for 6 months before it can be reinstated for an F500 fee.

This part of the new regulations have caused citizens to turn to HaniWeb and Stream to complain, saying that the terms were "unjust" and "vague". One user pointed out that "We could get fined for something inconsequential and have to go through all the steps just to get our passports reinstated in 5 years". As of right now, the Ha'Hani Times Post advice to travellers would be to memorize the local laws of the places you're going and to use common sense. And don't be a drunkard or do anything crazy.

A thorough presentation of Solar FiHami Act 2019 (SFA 2019) and Passport Exam Act 2019 (PEA 2019) will be addressed by the Ha'Coron' and Parliament before the SFA 2019 will be voted on in Upper Parliament Wednesday Night.

FiHami's Po o le Mamalu Feast in Rosei Hani Erupted in Chaos, Face-Off Between Antarchi, Open-Border Supporters and Tourists, and Closed-Border Supporters

The festivities were interrupted in the southern Rosei Hani village when a heated debate between 2 residents turned violent.

Mikala Fiko, 41, and Ikaia Nani, 38, were arguing about politics on the side while other community members and tourists celebrated and feasted earlier today. Several family members attempted to separate the two long-time friends, but eventually became violent when a group of Antarchi non-citizens (meaning those escaped the burning of Teti' or those who ran away from Huah'Huah without returning to FiHami) came and escalated the conflict further. The brawl became a fight of ideals. One woman, Ahina Leilomi, 63, led children and tourists away from the outbreak into her home while pursued by one of the Antarchi non-citizens, and fought the Antarchi non-citizen off until she was ultimately stabbed to death. Her actions, however, guaranteed the safety of the innocent parties, who called the authorities, who arrived in a record 4 minutes and 53 seconds to the scene of the fight and arrested the 17 people involved in the violence, 10 of them Antarchi non-citizens. The Antarchi non-citizens may face up to the death penalty.

In total, 1 person was killed, and 6 people were severely injured in the outbreak, and are treated for traumatic brain injury. Thanks to Leilomi's actions, no children or tourists came to harm.

Parliamentary Speaker Benjamin Owens Called To Publically Step Down, Owens-Antarchi Scandal Surfaces.

Since Ha'Coron' Finix gave up her position and disappeared, Eti Nanakupe and Sikupa Krasat'shi have been calling for Parliamentary Speaker Benjamin Owens to step down from office, citing harassment.

Krasat'shi has publicized various private letters between the Ha'Coron' and Owens, encouraging her to step down, surrender her position, and various offensive remarks. Krasat'shi has also posted screenshots of private messages on HaniWeb between Owens and Krasat'shi.
[spoiler]
OWENS: Tell your girlfriend to step down.
KRASAT'SHI: I don't tell her what to do. What's your deal, anyways?
OWENS: Link to Eti Nanakupe's HaniWeb post featuring Krasat'shi and the Ha'Coron' on a fishing trip, both subjects of the picture happily holding a larger fish. Picture credit: Eti Nanakupe.
OWENS: You're just using her to become chief of FiHami yourself. As Parliamentary Speaker, I'll ensure that you and Nanakupe stop interfering.
OWENS: I'll mane sure you keep this private

Parliamentary Speaker Benjamin Owens In The Midst of Controversy

Yesterday, Owens had been caught in the midst of controversy when Ha'Coron' Finix Fi'Shi left the presentation and was reported missing this morning when Eti Nanakupe and Sikupa Krasat'shi had found that the Ha'Coron' had not returned to their residence since that time. She was not found in her previous dwelling either.

Many are calling for Owens to resign from that alone, but an anonymous source had revealed several emails to and from the late Corbin White during the North Antarch Rebellion. In the emails, Owens talks about "Restoring the rightful ruler to FiHami", thanking White for the secret support during the Parliament elections, and several plans to "forcibly re-establish Antarchi rule over North Antarch". An assassination attempt was also discussed.

As of now, Owens has claimed that these assaults on his character were fabricated.

"My heart has always been for FiHami. These lies being spread to the people in order to further destabilize our nation is sick. Justice will find the perpetrator of these lies." Owens has said.

Parliament has unofficially sworn in Kilaui Kuri as the current Parliamentary Speaker.

Since FiHami's constitution has not established a line of succession in the case of treason or death, several members of Upper Parliament are reportedly drafting an amendment to fix this issue.

Finixli-i Party Fragments Over Current Issues

The Finixli-i party has fractured in two, with a sect who disagree with Parliamemtary Speaker Benjamin Owens' recent actions now calling themselves "Hani-i Parti". The major party figure, unofficial Parliamentary Speaker Kilaui Kuri, seems to head this sect.

"Do you really think Benjamin Owens is innocent in all this? He's always been a politician. He has to ensure his survival and popularity. Unfortunately for him, he sided wrong with the Antarchi Rebellion and that blunder is just coming to light now. Ben has always been selfish and greedy, but it's now just coming to light. The rightful Ha'Coron', Finix, must be found."

When asked about upcoming policies, Kuri mentioned that the newly-founded party will "side with logic with each issue pertaining to FiHami". She has also called for FiHami's military factions to cease WMDs research.

"We need to be a beacon of peace and prosperity in Pacifica. Nuclear missiles are NOT the goal."

Meanwhile, Benjamin Owens has made it clear that he will not give up his position without a fight.

"I was elected fairly, I haven't done anything wrong. The chief did what teens do, lose their tempers when they don't get their way. I don't like that this unrest in our beautiful nation is happening, but it is and I'm doing what I can to fix it. Kilaui and her 'Hani-i' party need to back off."

Ha'Coron' Finix remains missing as of this writing.

Parliamentary Speaker Kilaui Kuri Wins Over Parliament, Benjamin Owens Arrested.

In light of the Email scandal, head of Hani-i Party Kilaui Kuri takes over Parliament. One of her first orders was to vote on whether to arrest Owens, which won at 49-1. As of late, a search party for Ha'Coron' Finix remains unsuccessful.

"Finix is very hardy. She knows the jungles like the back of her hand. That being said, if she really doesn't want to be found, no one would be able to find her. As for Owens," Kuri stated. "As for Owens, there will be plenty of investigation for treason. We are investigating the validity of the email scandals."

"The current WMD research has been shut down." Kuri adds.

P.S. Kilaui Kuri Establishes New Purpose for the Tribal "House of Elders", Appoints 4 Justices to Serve Until Death

To prepare for the upcoming Owens v. FiHami case, Parliamentary Speaker Kilaui Kuri has appointed 4 judges to serve in the House of Elders for life.

Odei Hafanu, Finix Kokafi, Andrew Hastofi, and Fi'orafi "Fifi" Tai were the appointed Justices.

"Of course, as with tribal tradition, the Ha'Coron' will always be the 5th judge like how the chiefs were always the primary elder in the House of Elders. However, seeing that Ha'Coron' Finix is not here, if she doesn't come back before the trial I will stand in place as the 5th judge." Kuri told the HHTP.

She also planned to establish several ministries in the next few weeks, as well as establish the "FiHami Foreign Affairs Agency" (FFAA) that would handle the fine details of the Passport Exam Act as well as handle the majority of foreign affairs.

Ha'Coron' Finix Returns, Declares Ex-Speaker Benjamin Owens "Innocent of All Charges"

Ha'Coron' Finix was found emerging from the dense jungles earlier this morning, and taken into medical care "just as a safety measure" by Chief Doctor Terry Josephi. She was promptly released a few hours later mostly from the Ha'Coron's insistence that she "is fine".

When she had caught up with everything that happened, she demanded the release of ex-Parliamentary Speaker Benjamin Owens, declaring him "Innocent of all charges", and that it was "Unjust to lock him up with no other evidence except a clearly faked email reciept."

For now, Kilaui Kuri will remain the Parliamentary Speaker and continue serving until the next term. Owens has stated that he will give up his position for the current term, but will consider running in next year's election.

"Minister of Defence" Toa'a Kaio Appointed?

As a direct response to rising tensions worldwide, the FiHamian government has expanded upon the current military structure and established the Ministry of Defense. Tasked with ensuring FiHamian security, Parliamentary Speaker Kilaui Kuri, with Ha'Coron' Finix Fi'Shi's approval, has appointed Toa'a Kaio as the minister.

Toa'a Kaio was born March 3rd, 1992. In his childhood, Kaio studied various forms of martial arts. He started training on weapons when he was 8 years old. From 2004-2009 Kaio was arrested by Antarchi forces due to being considered a "danger". In 2009, Kaio broke out of jail and joined an underground squad that was to become Squad Prime of the Hani Uprising.

"When choosing someone to serve as Minister of Defense, it is important to find someone who had dedicated his whole life to defense. We have many outstanding offensive players, but few truly defensive prodigées. Toa'a Kaio is exactly that. And he answered the call." Parliamentary Speaker Kilaui Kuri commented.

"I believe Kuri's first choice is excellent. I personally know Kaio, I see his willingness to protect everything he loves, and he certainly loves FiHami. We had a very pleasent meeting earlier, and I look forward to seeing his ideas come to life." Ha'Coron' Finix Fi'Shi said regarding Kaio's appointment.

Ha'Hani Times Post has reached out to the new minister of defense for an interview at a later date.
