As some will have noticed, Glen-Rhodes has resigned as MoFA. He has been truly invaluable as a member of our region, and it is sad to see him step back - I wish him best of luck wherever real life takes him.
There is still a week of transition left before a newly elected Minister will officially take their seat. The Cabinet has a duty to fill this vacancy, especially in such a time-sensitive situation. We will be appointing Roavin as Minister of Foreign Affairs until the transition period is over.
Roavin has been a major asset in dealing with the situation in the East Pacific. He is not running in the elections, so there should be no undue influence. As a Cabinet advisor, he is already familiar with both Cabinet matters and with the specific ongoing foreign affairs situation - ensuring continuity, and therefore hopefully avoiding too much disruption at the end of the term.
Signed,
The Cabinet of the South Pacific
