General Staff Office, Oured, Frost Empire

Lt. Gen. Kuribayashi
: It appears the Harm-Gordhists have tried to launch an offensive. Perhaps they haven't received our minister's calls for a return to the table like civilized adults.

Gen. Kurihara: And what is the status of their offensive?

Lt. Gen. Kuribayashi: Dead in their tracks, General Kurihara. However, their Air force has caused considerable headaches for the old pill boxes that still litter the front lines.

Gen. Anno: Ha, who cares about those old things. Their Army is inferior to our own devoted troops. We should simply use this opportunity to launch a full scale invasion to not only retake the continent but also push into their capital.

Gen. Ikko: I'd watch your tongue, Anno... Those 'old things' are still manned by OUR troops and they have been great at reducing our own casualties while exacerbating theirs.

Adm. Nagumo: The Navy also has some good news as well... We have seized control of the seas separating them from us. Their pitiful navy stood no chance against the full power of the 9th fleet and we have largely cut them off from their Southern forces.

Adm. Yamamoto: Despite our good news, I would advise caution before we consider escalating the conflict.

Gen. Anno: Getting cold feet Admiral?

Adm. Yamamoto: No, you reckless fool. I am saying we must cover our flanks. Keep the other Empires, especially those barbarians in the Quarantine Zone from exploiting the war into their favor. Imagine if we moved in their mainland and they pull their Northern Garrisons Southward to repel us?

Gen. Kurihara: He's right, That would undo years of work in containing those zealots. I'd rather not launch another brutal campaign against them on the Harm-Gord mainland just to dislodge those pyromaniac worshippers.

Gen. Ikko: There's also the matter of the Ryccians and Drakari Empire's as well. They may preemptively try to join the Harm-Gordhists if it meant keeping the Empire in check.

Adm. Adachi: That's unlikely since the two empires hate each other. There's also the fact that the Drakari's egalitarian ways clash with the Harm-Gord Empire.

Gen. Ikko: But there's still the Ryccians to deal with.

Gen. Kurihara: The Ryccians won't be an issue. The Drakari are fully keen on dismantling the Ryccian Empire, and we have no interest in their mainland. We can enact the Zett protocol, and rely on the Navy to carry us to their overseas territories. Thus securing our hegemony over Pacifica's oceans, and allow the Drakari to invade any coastal city on the Ryccian Mainland.

Gen. Ikko: I see, but will the Drakari even be willing to work with us in the event that Ryccia joins the Gords? After all our predecessor's more brutal policies have soured previous relations with them.

Lt. Gen. Kuribayashi: That's up to the diplomats. After all we are still a meritocratic society, albeit one based on heavy militarism and nationalism. Furthermore, unlike the Ryccian Fascists, our disagreements stem largely on the treatment of prisoners. Our predecessors worked them to death as though they were slaves, but we have made great strides in improving their treatment, although they are still used as guinea pigs to test out medical procedures when they are injured or sick.

Gen. Anno: A pity... Prisoners of War deserve a much harsher sentence for dishonoring their country and themselves.

Adm. Kenshin: (Sighs) General Anno, it is a wonder how someone as pigheaded as you even managed to claw your way up here with such abhorrent views.

Gen. Anno: It is because I know What must be done you cow-

Lt, Gen. Kuribayashi: That's ENOUGH Anno! I know we instill a fatalistic view on our own, but that is by necessity! Our men have no choice but to fight to the last man because we all know what awaits a prisoner in a harm-gord, finixian and Ryccian camp, Agony and despair. They'll be lucky if Death's sweet embrace takes them before they experience the horrors those monsters can inflict upon a man.

Gen. Kurihara: (raises his hand as though to calm down the other officers) Gentlemen, calm down. Admiral Kenshin is entitled to his own opinions while General Anno is also entitled to his own. That being said, the mistakes of the past staff office are one's we shouldn't repeat and are being remedied. So long as either Empire stays out of our way we will maintain neutral ties and let them fight each other as they have done with us with regards to the Harm-Gordists and the Finixians. Of course we could send word to the Drakari to gauge their interests in a possible non-aggression pact allowing us to free troops to deal with our respective foes.

The president was shocked... no... vexed that the Frosts were claiming that it was his orders to attack the Empire... twice. What treason!

He rushed down the hall to take care of the general, but the general was already heading to the president's office.

Russell pulled a silver pistol out of his holster on his waist.

"No more diplomacy! I'll do it myself!"

Timothy is shot, quickly taken away by aides. The general soon crafted a story that the president had a fatal heart attack. No matter the true fate of the president, the populace rejoiced. While not a terrible man, he was an inactive leader, something no one wanted in a crumbling "empire." On General Russell's orders, the full military is unleashed on the southern front. The massive air force floods the skies, while the small, but advanced army storms the beaches below. The navy is kept on patrol on the coasts, while plenty of mines are laid. The stage is set, but can Gordharmi survive, especially with the racial tensions (although Harmaks and Gordists are from the same ethnolinguistic family).

In a bunker, near the FiHami border, Timothy Spacey awakes slowly to see that he barely survived the gunshot, surrounded by his closest staff and family. He maybe hanging on, but he maybe the savior for the nation.

In a secret base in Gordista, a masterful plan is being put in place. Tons of steel and scientists flow in the base, but no one knows what it is. All they know is that it is big.

FiHami Imperial Palace, Finixifi Island, FiHami Empire

"Ki Ha'Coron'! Important news!"

"Who dares interrupt my precious meditation time?" Kuha thundered, furiously whirring around to glare at the man who dared walk in.

"You will appreciate this news, I promise." the man tenses up, his sweat betrayed his apparent calm.

"Speak and I will decide your fate."

"Ki Ha'Coron', the president of the Gordhami empire has been reported dead. I predict we will see war against the Frosti break out."

Kuha turned around once again, letting the rage settle down. She smiled to herself briefly, then lifted up her arms to the sun.

"Ha'Finix is blessing us today. Alert the grand commander. Send some of our best forces to the Frosti border."

The man bowed low to the ground, then left the Ha'Coron's personal prayer room.

Somewhere on the edge of the Gordhami and FiHami border

The air was silent and heavy when the news of the Gordhami President's death was announced at the little rebellion camp. The apparent leader, who wore a solitary falcon feather that drooped down towards the ground, remained silent. Yet, she maintained a steady, hopeful aura around her.

"My siblings, we must remain strong. Yes, the president's death was untimely, and now there will be war once again, if I am correct. But, there is still a chance that we can act as peace-bearers to the world. We are a burning fire that first must purify FiHami before we can purify the rest of the world. The president's death is a sign of war to come."

Silence stood at the camp.

"Natasei, Sikupa, we must begin aggressive campaigning. It is time the world knows who the real Ha'Coron' should be. Begin storming the cities and liberate those from Kuha's guards."

"Hai, ki Ha'Coron'!

General Staff Office, Oured, Frost Empire

"Those FOOLS!" Roared General Kurihara, while General Anno was chuckling jovially.

"What are you acting happy for Anno?!" snapped Admiral Kenshin

Gen. Anno sneered as he replied "Well my friend, I am profoundly happy to do my duty to the Emperor and crush the Gordhist Vermin who dare to invade our lands. In fact we should thank them for offering up their army on a silver platter."

"That's enough you two." said Gen. Kurihara rather sternly as he lit up a cigar and continued, "What do you think Yamamoto? This is a coup isn't it?"

"Who knows, Their government's official line is that he had a heart attack but for all we know the Gordhist military may have seized power given their immediate and reckless escalation of the border skirmish." replied Admiral Yamamoto laying a map of the updated front lines.

"As you all know, the Gordhists control the air above Bailtem, and contest our control of the Mediterranean skies but we control the seas and have their coastal fleets contained. Their response indicates that they've committed their entire airforce to the south which means there's a greater risk for the 9th fleet's surface ships. However, once we eradicate their inferior navy and clear the water of mines, our subs will be able to blockade their ports with impunity."

"Don't forget they'll be leaving their Eastern and Western Coasts under-defended" chimed in Admiral Adachi

"That is good news," responded General Ikko

"What of the Army? How will you deal with the Gordhist Army?" asked Admiral Yamamoto.

"We'll implement operation Hannibal, and encircle their much smaller army with our own." responded Lt. Gen. Kuribayashi.

"And their Airforce?"

"We'll shoot down as many as we can, but we we already have incorporated them into our plans."

"Is that so?"

"Indeed, we know they'll breach our Northern Defenses and will likely target the nearest factories, in additioon to conducting ground support operations due to their sheer numbers. However, we will use their air force's successes against them and feed them the fake narrative that they are winning the ground war, and lead them into the trap. Once the trap is sprung, no amount of fire power can save them from themselves, it will be a bloody and confusing affair, but the destruction of their army is worth the losses." responded the Lt. Gen.

"In the meantime, we will need our diplomats to secure our flanks politically, we need to keep the Ryccians and Drakari out of the war since its clear those Pyromaniacs may seize on this opportunity to try to break the quarantine zone." said General Kurihara.

"I will draft a recommendation to the foreign affairs ministry and request they do so as soon as possible," responded Admiral Kenshin.

The Front lines, Bailtem & Bareland

A fierce battle raged across Northern Bareland as the Frost Empire implemented a plan to encircle the Gordhist Army. The plan was simple as it was brilliant. The Empire would gradually fallback along the front lines and allow the Gordhists to create a "bulge" and stretch their smaller army's lines. Their air support while formidable, was taken into account and exploited to create a sense that the Imperial ranks were collapsing. However, in order to sell their "retreat" several units committed themselves into rear guard units fighting to the last man and taking down as many of the enemy as possible.

Meanwhile the rest of the continent lit up with anti-air fire as Frost ground crews shot down many planes, often taking multiple planes down due to the sheer quantity of planes in the skies. The Navy surged forward with its own counteroffensive, bombarding and blockading Gordhist ports across Bailtem. The enemy navy proved to be vastly inferior to the Empire. The general consensus among the Imperial navy was that the fleets' only true threat from Harm-Gord was their aircraft, who were currently preoccupied with the southern front instead of to the West and East allowing 2/3s of the navy to freely attack.

"Ki Ha'Coron', I highly recommend we conquer our lands to the east before going after ki Frosti."

One of the highest ranking generals spoke nervously yet confidently. He kept glancing at Kuha and judging her reaction to his words before he continued.

"If we take our rightful lands to the East, we may amass a larger army of servents to Ha'Finix, and have an easier time taking out the Frost empire after."

Kuha merely sat silently, thinking it over. Her face betrayed no expression.

"General, I will take your word for it. But first, I must tell you, intelligence agencies may have spotted my niece near the border of the Gordhami empire. The area, as you know, has been linked to these slave revolts. I wish to... nip them at the bud, so to speak."

"Ki Ha'Coron', you would kill your own niece?"

"Why, of course! She has been blaspheming against Ha'Finix, so therefore, she must be offered as a sacrifice. It's a shame, I raised her as my own, but she has gone and betrayed me and all Finixi people."

Kuha sat silently a little while longer, thinking.

"I want you to assemble every soldier, slave, and the like amongst the empire, and find the one most loyal to Ha'Finix. Once you do, bring them to me. It doesn't matter their gender, or even if they're dirty halfbreeds. I want them to hunt Finix down and bring her here alive. After she is made an example of, we will go after the Eastern islands."

"Hai, ki Ha'Coron'."

The general bowed to the ground, waiting for Kuha's command to get up and leave, doing so immediately when she does. He already had a couple people in mind, but he wanted to test them first.

Palace of the Divine Dragon
Astronomer's Tower
Elysium, Pax Dracon

As her courtier had suggested, the Empress had gathered the Praetors in the dead of night, the moon shining through the observatory's window.

"You asked us to come here, Praetor Nazari," she said as she paced about the room, idly sipping a glass of wine as she fixed her gaze upon the meek official, "and here we are.  What is it you wanted to talk to us about tonight?"

The aforementioned Praetor took a deep breath before stepping forward.  "Well... you are aware of how the Ryccians use propaganda to ensure that the population continues to buy into their lies of superiority, of economic stability, of righteousness?"

"Aye, that we are, lad.  Why do you ask?"  The Erinoran Praetor from earlier furrowed his brows at that question.

"Why it's quite simple:  It's an open secret to outsiders that the Ryccian Empire is not as stable or mighty as it boasts.  Their government frequently squabbles amongst itself.  More importantly, their cybersecurity and broadcasting technology is imitative, rather than innovative.  In their desperate desire to be on par with the other states, they arrogantly ignore weaknesses that would seem insignificant in their eyes.  By using this to our advantage, we can hijack these broadcasts to show the people the truth of what happened in the Great War.  Show them that the State is not as benevolent as it seems by revealing footage of the extermination attempts."

Hestia smirked as she drained her glass, putting the pieces together.  "And with time and consistent effort, we will be able to incite mass uprisings among the citizenry and military that not even the Emperor's thugs can hope to stop."

"Exactly!  More will take up the fight to send the Empire tumbling to the ground.  In the meanwhile, we can call for a ceasefire conference amongst the powers of Bailtem and Bareland.  I think this may prove... beneficial to all peoples in the long term."

The Council of Praetors murmured among themselves as they processed this proposal, many of them practically brimming in excitement before they all nodded to affirm it.  "Good.  Begin our efforts, and prep all legions to be on high alert.  Tyranny's reign shall crumble beneath the wings of the Great Dragon."

Demilitarized Border, Termina Special District

Captain Kii Anzai grimaced as he escorted the Frost Envoy to the shared Demilitarized border between the Empire and the Drakari. The Captain voiced his concerns to the Envoy as he asked, "Are you sure this is a good idea? Aren't there other channels by which for you to contact the Drakari?"

The envoy sighed as he responds, "Captain, if there were other means then I wouldn't be here. You and I both know that the last government ceased diplomatic relations with the Drakari 30 years ago. Furthermore, we may not have been able to maintain demilitarized borders, if it wasn't for the diligence and discipline of the officers on site. So Captain, unless you have a better idea, our only option of talking to the Drakari political leadership is by enlisting the aid of Col. Ryou Hino."

The Captain nods silently, as he knew better than to press the matter. The two men continue the rest of the trip to the border in relative silence, hoping the Drakari still contact the Provincial Colonel.

"High Chaplain, we are ready!"

I saw the stage, it was ready and officers of The Order are all lined up. People in service of The Order of the Kilauea, handpicked from dozens of soldiers and volunteers of our glorious empire that wills itself to die for the Ha'Finix and the heavens.

How silly for them to believe that this is a sure ticket to heaven, unless they act with such virtue, such shall be bestowed upon them.

"Order of the Kilauea, chosen by our glorious Ki Ha'Finix as her ambassadors to cleanse the world of those that have sinned against her teachings. Those heretics that claim to work at behest of peace and sin shall no naught but salvation that we shall teach through fire. Your birth and your blood may be different, but under the order you are all one the same. Your blood may be pure or dirty, or your stature be laden with gold or stone, yet your hearts are all pure and cleansed. Now under the Ki Ha'Coron, we shall spread and free the people and absolve them of our sin!"

Two missiles emerge from the cobblestone mountain behind The Order's assembly.

"May Ki Ha'Finix absolve the sinners and petrify those that challenge her light in a rain of fire, ash and stone!"

Ki Ha'Finix!
Ki Ha'Finix!
Ki Ha'Finix!
Ki Ha'Finix!
Ki Ha'Finix!
Ki Ha'Finix!

The missiles are launched, and thus the first ships launched their offensive towards Bailtem. The High Chaplain minced no words.

"The invasion into Bailtem has begun, ki Ha'Coron'. I think our chances are hopeful."

"Has anyone captured the rat that is my niece?"

"Not yet. She has been spotted near the border of Bailtem but we have not been able to find her."

"That is fine. Continue the invasion, we will continue the search as well. The next operation will be to break the quarantine."

"Hai, ki Ha'Coron'!

"FREEDOM FOR ALL! FREEDOM FOR ALL!"

Hundreds of thousands of protestors showed up, chanting loudly. Military personnel fired into the crowd, but where one protestor died, 5 more took their place. The protestors fired back at the military personnel, killing those who killed their own. It was a bloody mess, and the streets of the capital, normally painted gold, were stained red with blood.
