Hai friends.

Yeah, that's right. I'm posting again. It's break, I'm bored, and old habits die hard when you're bored. Don't expect me to, you know, do anything, but I wanted to poke in, say hi, and let y'all know that I'm doing okay and update a little on my life. This semester was absolutely brutal and I'm very glad I quit playing actively, but I don't want to lose you all.

I assume most of you know this, but I'm going to a small liberal arts college studying German and philosophy. I'm now a senior and I'm on track to graduate in May. This last semester was maybe the toughest I've had. On top of my philosophy capstone project, I had two 300-level philosophy courses and a 300-level german course that were all required for graduation.

On top of that I had two jobs, one coaching debate at a local high school and the other as a writing assistant for a first-year seminar in the German department. And as if that wasn't enough, I co-captained my school's mock trial team. So that's why you haven't seen hide nor hair of me for almost six months.

There's a lot to look forward to. For starters, I guess it's now December 29th which means I turn 22 today! I'm applying to teach English in Austria next year while I figure out what I want to do for grad school. I started streaming more seriously on Twitch in my minimal downtime and I'm gonna work on growing my channel next year while I have more time.

Don't expect me to return to my peak levels of activity anytime soon slash at all. This game was not healthy for me and if anyone catches me running for office in the near future, slap me. I mean it. I just wanted y'all to know I didn't forget about ya Wink

yawning part two.

me again - figured i'd just post on the old life update thread since it's perfectly good and still on the front page. Semi-regular "I'm not dead just kinda dozing" post.

It's currently very late at night and I'm working on my German capstone. I needed to stop and take a break for a second so I didn't lose my mind. This thing is wrecking me. I'm writing the thing on TV satire in Germany and particuarly one guy named Jan Böhmermann who I have grown to admire as a satirist because of how far he's willing to go to use his humor to correct or at least identify real problems. Anyway. What else is happening.

There's a pandemic. I thought I had coronavirus for a few days but I didn't. All I have now is keyboards. Lots and lots of them. At least I use them for things! I hit 100 followers on Twitch recently! Close to 120 now. I've been playing a ton of osu!, Overwatch, and Valorant lately. Twitch is to me now what NS used to be - a social minefield that I sink way too much time into. The major upside to it is that if I get bored of a game, I can switch to another and people (usually) still come hang out in my chat - not many but enough to keep me going.

As far as what else is going on - everything's on hold. Graduation cancelled, mock trial cancelled midway through the season, the one thing that gives me hope is the job I landed. I applied through Fulbright for an English teaching assistantship in Austria and got it! It's run by the Austrian education ministry and not Fulbright, but I'll be teaching English in Vienna starting in September! Hopefully that doesn't also get postponed or cancelled, but signs point to Austria being way ahead of the game on getting back to semi-normal. I hope the US' complete incompetence here doesn't cause an issue with me getting my residence permit. Austria might even get to finish out this school year in person though, so fingers crossed.

As always, this isn't a sign of my return, I don't expect to in the near future at all, just popping my head up since I've been chilling in the TSP discord more than usual lately and I wanted to give a more formal check-in. I hope y'all are well and of course much love <3
