The Kingdom of Valkenzeja or Valkenzeja Rikka (/væl ˈkɛnzi ja:/ ["val-ken-zee-yuh ree-kah") is a thalassocratic realm of Aurora that is the home of the Valkenzi people. The realm is led by a queen, Va Mirenze, a benevolent ruler who wields absolute power in the state. For hundreds of years, Valkenzeja has been known as a seaborne power that relies on its naval force to quell invasions in its territories. The realm's warriors, the Guardians of the Kingdom orRikka Gardun, enforce a queen's tax on all foreign goods that enter Valkenzeja, which has been a source of contention with other realms of Aurora.

The official religion of the realm is Valkenza, which is predicated on the existence of a pantheon of gods and goddesses that live in a world separate from Aurora. The Valkenza religion also serves the state well by encouraging men and women to join the Rikka Gardun in the belief that their service will grant them a higher status in the afterlife and death in battle would give them the highest status above others.
