Guide to the Pokemon gyms and the Championship
#1

Hello fellow trainers! *waves*

Welcome to the world of Pokemon! My name is Phoenix, but people 'round these parts call me "Pokemon Professor Phoenix".

Our lovely region, the South Pacific, is inhabited by mysterious creatures called Pokemon.  For some people, Pokemon are pets.  Others use them for fights.  Myself...I study Pokemon as a profession.

Now, the South Pacific is teeming with wild Pokemon everywhere you go.  It'd be a good idea to befriend a few of them and train them up to become strong so one day you may be able to take over the cabinet challenge our regional gyms!  I'll walk you through a quick guide on how to do that.

Professor Phoenix' Guide To The Gyms
The South Pacific has three gyms: the Water Gym, the Steel gym, and the Ghost gym.  You must have proven yourself to be a competent trainer in order to challenge the gym of your choice, by getting your main Pokemon on our discord server to level 30, and have caught at least 10 different Pokemon.  Once you do, you will be eligible to apply via the Gym Pass Application thread for a gym pass!  The gym pass will grant you the ability to apply to challenge any one of three gyms (or more, if you're really ambitious).

If you manage to beat the gym you challenged, then you are eligible to challenge the champion!  Good luck though, I know the champion is a tough cookie!
Our gym battles will commence with whoever's Pokemon has the higher speed stat.  Each player will make command their Pokemon to move, and the Referee will watch closely to see what happens, and report to each trainer.  The way this will work is that moves will cause damage on the opposing Pokemon in relation to that Pokemon's base defense statistic.  Chances of the move landing will be based off the moves' accuracy.  Pokemon battles will continue until one side's Pokemon are no longer able to battle.
