TURKISH ATTACHÉ Charles Boyle | Food Editor Inspired by a classic film set in the 1920s high society England, this drink is a pleasure both to make and drink. Your Chef's Tip for today? Please drink responsibly and abide by your country's legal drinking age. This recipe is for an alcoholic beverage. You should only drink it if you are above your country's legal drinking age. Always drink in moderation. INGREDIENTS Drink • 2 fl oz brandy • 1/2 fl oz velvet falernum liqueur • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice • 1 bar spoon of passion fruit syrup • 4 dashes of Angostura or other aromatic bitters Rimming • 1 lemon • Lemon wedge • Sugar PREPARATION Rimming 1. Run the lemon wedge along the rim of a chilled coupe or wineglass. 2. Pour a small mound of sugar onto a flat saucer. 3. Tip the glass so it is almost parallel to the plate and gently roll its dampened edge on the sugar to create a sugar-frosted rim. 4. Cut the zest from the whole lemon in a continuous wide strip using a vegetable peeler. 5. Coil the strip and slip it into the glass. Drink 6. Combine the brandy, the velvet falernum, the lemon juice, the passion fruit syrup and the bitters in a shaker. 7. Add ice. 8. Shake for 8 to 10 seconds, then strain into the glass.
