Statement by Ambassador Noor Aqaba of The Kingdom of Izaakia
Delegates of the World Forum, today in Valora we saw a crime that has potential ramifications across the world. We saw the government of Valora execute peace emissaries for rebel groups. This is a violation of international law, and one that I believe as the World Forum we are obliged to punish. One of the founding principles of the world forum, and in section A of our charter, is the obligation of this assembly to maintain peace, order and stability in the world. Quote:"1. The purpose of the World Forum shall be to maintain peace, order, and stability in the world. The member states of the World Forum shall take collective action to ensure that all threats to the peace, order, or stability among them are suppressed. The execution of Valoran dissident emissaries is in clear violation of section 1 of our charter, as it makes the path to peace impossible. Never again will rebel groups, or any future combatants against the state of Valora trust that their attempts for peace will not be met with the execution of their diplomats. Further more, this violation of the most sacred of diplomatic traditions sets a dangerous precedent, a precedent that may endanger all future attempts at preventing a conflict, or ending a conflict without the complete destruction of the opposition. A world where diplomats are not safe is a world where conflict, chaos and the most brutal crimes against humanity will be perpetual, for peace is ultimately the profession of a diplomat. I know this forum has been slow to react in the past, however, this is a crime which cannot go unpunished. A crime so heinous it threatens to undermine the very collective values that underpin international relations and the very foundations of this forum, and ultimately we must punish the Valoran government to the full extent of our power. For these reasons, I commend to the forum the following motions; 1) Suspend the world forum observer status of Valora until such a time as their government has made significant steps towards recognising international law. 2) Bring charges in the international courts against to government of Valora on the basis of the systematic violation of human rights. 3) Full international economic sanctions against the government and state of Valora. Punishing those states who ignore the sanctions. 4) An international WF peacekeeping force to be sent to Valora to enable peace, and the peace process to take place. Fellow delegates of the forum, I believe that these measures are appropriate for the severity of these crimes, and I encourage you to support these measures of condemnation for one of the most vile acts of state sponsored murder and oppression in recent times. Delegates, Ladies and Gentlemen, I yield the floor to my fellow delegates to debate these motions.

The Kingdom of Valora shall not bow down to any international threats conspiring to break the nation into a million fragments and subjugate our people. We do not recognize the criminals and thugs of the so-called "rebellion" as legitimate, and thus they have no diplomatic immunity. They are terrorists and murderers, and they must be treated as such. These rabid dogs shall not be permitted to imperil the nation! These treacherous terrorists must be brought to justice, and we shall never yield to their demands of chaos and destruction!
Most of all, we shall never permit for any insidious and malevolent foreign forces from dictating the lives of the Valoran people and for their conspiracies to destroy the unity of the Valoran state and the nation to succeed! The Kingdom shall fight against any terroristic actions taken against its sovereignty by any nation of the world, and if you dare step into our soil as foreign invaders wishing to make a colony of our land, we shall bathe you with fire and blood! Whilst we are gravely concerned of the events transpiring in our neighbouring state, the Ryccian Federation objects to Section 4 of this proposal. It is our belief that sending an international force shall only prolong and intensify the civil war in the country of Valora, not to mention endanger our own national security. It would be a violation of the sovereignty of our neighbour and foreign interference into another country's affairs which would only serve to widen the scale of the war in Valora, something which we cannot allow. The Ryccian Federation refuses to support this proposal, for it goes too far with its demands.

“Whilst we welcome Ryccias concern about its neighbours, we do not agree with its conclusions concerning its oppositions to the use of an international peacekeeping force. However, we are aware that it is a contentious issue to put an international force into a battlefield. Therefore, we propose that the use of a WF peacekeeping force be voted on separately. With proposals 1-3 as a single package of sanctions. “ |
