[IC] Parliamentary Inquiry into The Annexation of La Montagne
#151

"Look, let's drop the formalities and talk for a bit. Astrid, I know being a monarch is tough. I know the situation, it happens. It's an annoying and difficult job, you want to be seen as a hero. tough way to stand, you have to prove your worth. You're the last descendent of your line, and that's a really difficult place to be in. Let's just put aside all that politics crap and just answer the gosh darned question. Is that really to difficult?"

(OOC: Yea that's not happening. If police got close to him, they'd be shot by the king's guard at a whim)

"So, no answer? Very well, Astrid. No more questions. I shall see you again soon, once something else pops up. I hope to all the Gods that exist and to all faiths of the world that we shall be fighting the same battle together at one point. But for now, history cannot be changed. It can only be created. Afterwards, it remains. I guarantee this shall be seen as a victory in my nation and in yours. You were smart to not answer, as it pleaseas both sides. Your people see you as the hero who refused to answer to foreign remarks, and I will be seen as a hero for getting you to crack that you had no reason at all to not let La Montagne free. Anyway, I rant too much, as always." King James starts to walk out towards Izaakston's airport, where his private plane was waiting.

The Right Honourable William Coutts “Well, it’s been a long and eventful day, just goes to show the peril of an open invitation. Remaining delegates are invited for supper in the parliamentary banquet hall where I believe a fine selection of izaakian specialities are being served along with some of our famous Aquavit. Other than that, I’ll see you all bright an early tomorrow when we’ll begin the slightly more civilised interview of Prime Minister Valkyrie Mountbatten”

The Right Honourable William Coutts, “thank you honoured dignitaries for your attendance to this enquiry, and your active participation, except perhaps for the bizarre lack of questioning of the prime minister. Conclusions will be published in a report in the coming weeks”
