Worlds Apart, Worlds United
#1

Sometime around the mid 19th century or mid 1800s, a typhoon surrounded the Philippine island of mainland Luzon. This typhoon shielded and isolated the island until it vanished. What the island and its inhabitants saw was a world torn by war and anarchy. While the island was kept isolated for 145 years the outside world was continueing to progress and advance for centuries until war, chaos, total decentralization and other mysterious events lost to time made the world crumble.

The marvels of the future were either nothing but forgotten in the past, used as nothing but rare trinkets called "Artifacts" by the rich in rare pockets of advance isolated civilizations, used by many like warlords, emperors, bandits, other powerful criminals or even some peasants as stepping stones to climb the ladder, power grabs or objects to strengthen themselves with and finally, kept away from the outside world either for the "Good of Humanity" or in the name of "Progress".
While many of the Luzon states modernized to outcompete their rivals, the mountain clan ancestors of the Ipugao decided to stay hidden by blocking routes to their homeland in the highlands. That stayed the norm until after 10 years another strange phenoma occurred.
Two portals appeared east from the Philippine archipelago, one that led to the canon world of "the South Pacific" and another one to the world were "The Technocratic Republic of Noimosini" resided.

After the global communities discovered us and we discovered them in 2005. We incountered what the modern world had to offer and what dangers lie within it.The times of our ancestors are over, times have changed and now we must change with it. We united as one to counter these dangers, united as one to modernize as fast as we could and we united as one to take our place in this new world.

For long has the Philippine archipelago been consumed by war and division.

The lands of the north, Luzon, have the most populated states, having the most manpower and workers. But it gets the brunt of the raids from the central islands and the south.

The central islands, Visayas, have the most naval powers, these powers profit from great trade. But, they also profit from piracy, the area is infested by pirates not just from the islands but also from the south.

The south, Mindanao and their off shore territories , is the area with the most technologically advance nations, having giant almost impenetrable ships and forts. But they are also the most jingoistic, being very secretive and paranoid when it involves their tech. The only time they aren't very jingoistic is when it involves trade, even then they don't let outsiders stay for too long, and piracy.

However we, Ipugao, are getting annoyed by the chaos this close to home. We decided to fix this problem with our hands and thanks to Noimosini sending resources such as guns, tanks, artillery, some engineers that can possible help improve upon our military tech and more. We united as one, to unite the archipelago as one.
