TSPride 2021

When I suggested that we do a Pride event in TSP this year, rather emboldened by my own recent coming out, I didn't think that I would be the one spearheading it or that we'd have so little time to put things together. The timing was of course not ideal, coming hard on the heels of the cabinet elections and so we got what we got, a sort of patchy celebration of as much of the LGBTQ+ spectrum as our resources and volunteers would allow.

I want to thank those volunteers, especially those who shared something of themselves in the TSPride Stories or in conversations on Discord or the RMB. And I want to thank Micah the WiseOldLlamaMan and the rest of the Llama Pack for letting me piggy back on some of their Pride activity to help fill out schedule. They are an amazing community to whom I am grateful for the safe space they offer to be a progressive, queer Christian and share my hopes, dreams, fears, struggles, doubts and rants (both positive and negative).

I hope TSPride has been fun for those who have taken part and that those of us who are queer have felt their welcome in TSP all over again. I hope there's been something for everyone to take away and ponder or smile about. But, most of all, I hope that this happens again, that we are more prepared for it next year and able to do so much more to celebrate our LGBTQ+ region mates and our allies - the rest of you!

So, until next year, stay safe, be kind and, if you're queer in any way, continue being proud of it all year long!
