The Closing Speech By 'Delegate' Beepee

Good Morning my fellow South Pacificans

Today, marks our end of our Defender Day and Independence Day Celebrations 2021, and I am delighted to be giving the closing speech.

This week, nations from all over our wonderful region celebrate and remember an important chapter in our history.  Even the wider diaspora of South Pacificans across this great multiverse have been taking moments of solemn reflection and celebrating, joyously, the heroic steps of our elders in maintaining the integrity and the compassion of our region.

Today, and indeed all this week on tspforums, I have watched us celebrate the ties that bind us together as a community.  Our unique South Pacific-ness, a fun, caring, compassionate mob, that brings joy to so many.

Every year, these celebrations serve as a reminder of all we work for, and the people, determined to build a better South Pacific. I particular I give praise to our governmental officers, our volunteers, and our unpaid interns.  It gives me such drive and pride to see our region grow and thrive, under their tutelage.

Standing here before you today, I am reminded of of a quote from, one of icon's of our time, Moira Rose when she uttered the Immortal words "When one of us shine, all of us shine."  LadyRebels is one of those shining lights and for her strength and fortitude at a time of great difficulty, we continue to praise her and bask in her warm shining glow.

There have been times in our history when it was difficult to see our region’s true potential. I know that. But that is no longer the case – that is not the South Pacific, I lead today. The spirit of optimism that is sweeping our region is something you can only understand when you truly experience it for yourself.  That is because of the strong leaders we have had in the past and contiune to have today.

As my time as Delegate comes to an end and Grand Admiral General Amerion leads us into the next chapter of our South Pacific story. I leave him, and you, with these wise words from LadyRebels herself from over 10 years ago...

"I love TSP and all the awesome folks here"

All hail the South Pacific.
