The League Monthly Foreign Report
August 2021

Produced on behalf of the Republic of The League by the Department of Foreign Affairs
General Foreign Affairs Report
Authored by Spode Humbled Minions.

Regarding topics about foreign affairs since 30 June 2021:
The Director of Foreign Affairs at the time of this report is Spode Humbled Minions.

The League's Defense Forces Foreign Report
Authored by Quebecshire and New Makasta.

The League's Defense Forces have had a strong month of activity. We welcomed two new members into our ranks and two former members returned to service. Currently, The League's Defense Forces maintain fourteen members, ten of whom are active duty, and four reserves members.

The LDF has maintained a strong presence in Libcord throughout the month in standard defensive and detagging operations alongside our partner military forces. Additionally, the LDF conducted a variety of training operations in chasing, triggering, and movement at times when raiding activity was slow.

Regarding matters off the battlefield, the LDF supported two of our embassy regions in their domestic World Assembly Delegate transitions. The LDF aided in securing The Atlae Isles position as the elected Delegate of The East Pacific and is currently deployed in The Free Nations Region to ensure the stability of the transition of their delegacy to Thaelle.

While raiding over the last month has not been exceedingly active, The League's Defense Forces took part in what was likely the most notable operation of the month, that being the raid and subsequent liberation of Nasunia. Given the subversive techniques by which the raid was accomplished, we are pleased to report our involvement in the liberation of the region and the expulsion of raiding forces.

The primary LDF Command apparatus at the time of this report is as follows, Consulate Foreign Report
Authored by Creeperopolis and Paleocacher.

Terranihil resigned as Chief Consul of the Republic on 26 July 2021 and he was succeeded, both as Consul and Chief Consul, by Creeperopolis, the then Director of Foreign Affairs of The League.

The Constitution Republic of Zion was nominated and confirmed as Speaker of the Council for a second term on 14 July 2021. Spode Humbled Minions was appointed to serve as Director of Foreign Affairs on 26 July 2021.

The Office of the Consulate at the time of this report is as follows, Council Foreign Report
Authored by The Constitutional Republic of Zion.

On 2 July, the Council of the Republic voted for the region to sign the 8 July Accords in an unofficial vote. As The League’s constitution has no de jure mechanism for treaty ratification, the Consulate asked for an advice and consent vote from the Council. The treaty was unanimously approved by the sitting Council, allowing the executive government to move forward with ratification

The July nominations for Council ended with seven Leaguer citizens nominated to each serve two months in the Council. The nominees were Creeperopolis, DinoNet, New Makasta, Protocol Rendezvous, Spode Humbled Minions, The Constitutional Republic of Zion, and The New Fandom Republic. The nominees were confirmed in a poll open to all citizens of The League. Six citizens voted in favor of confirming the nominees and only one voted against confirmation.

Following a Council discussion on 26 June, the Consulate, with Council consensus, removed the internal voting process for the Speaker of the Council and changed it to a nomination-confirmation appointment process. On 14 July, the Consulate nominated The Constitutional Republic of Zion to his first full term as Speaker of the Council. The Constitutional Republic of Zion accepted the nomination and was confirmed unanimously by the Council.

Following Terranihil’s resignation as Chief Consul, the Council was convened to provide advice on future appointments to fill government positions. Once the resignation was official, the Speaker of the Council The Constitutional Republic of Zion issued a “resounding thanks” to the former Chief Consul and congratulated the new Chief Consul Creeperopolis and the new Director of Foreign Affairs Spode Humbled Minions through a statement in The League’s official government channel.

The Council of the Republic will have its mid-cycle nominations from early to mid-August, with the potential for new members to join the legislature for the remainder of this term.

The Speaker of the Council at the time of this report is The Constitutional Republic of Zion.

Thank you Coop for establishing a consulate for us! - Mr. Spode of The League

The League's Defense Forces Foreign Report
Authored by Quebecshire and New Makasta.

Since the last report, The League's Defense Forces have been hard at work acomplishing our mission across NationStates.

Since our last report, LDF members have attended 62 Libcord updates and 1 update alongside NationStates Antifa. Libcord work has included typical defensive operations (including the sieges and liberations of Chaylia and Liberal Democratic Union), and in regards to anti-fascist work, LDF members attended the raid of New Western Atlantic, and will contribution to the destruction of the region primarily through Blardillen, an activated sleeper nation of Consul Quebecshire.

Presently, the LDF contains 8 active duty members and 8 reserve members. Our highest density of updaters in recent time occurred at the second liberation attempt of the LDU, an operation attended by 9 LDF members.

Off-update work included aiding in the stabilization of Chaylia and the LDU through cooperation with their native governments.

Lastly, the LDF announced sanctions against the Joint Task Force on August 30th, an action also done by the Thaecian and East Pacifican governments. Since then, the JTF has been effectively decommissioned.

Promotions from the last month included Iandrul to the rank of Sergeant and The Tirol Region to the rank of Corporal.

The primary LDF Command apparatus at the time of this report is as follows, Consulate Foreign Report

In addition to overseeing typical mid-term Council nominations, the Office of the Consulate moved to bring The League into the Partnership for Sovereignty. Additionally, the Consulate and Department of Foreign Affairs published a joint statement with 10000 Islands on the anticipated fronters and strongholds update.

The Office of the Consulate at the time of this report is as follows, Council Foreign Report
Authored by The Constitutional Republic of Zion.

On August 12th, the Council’s mid-term nomination cycle ended with Terranihil, Chief Consul Emeritus, being nominated and confirmed to serve on the Council for the remainder of the term. On 16 August, the Council was asked by the Consulate to hold an advice and consent vote to ratify the Partnership for Sovereignty charter after The League was accepted into the organization. As The League has no official mechanism for treaty ratification, the vote was unofficial and used to collect the opinions of the Council’s members. The Council voted unanimously to recommend the ratification of the Partnership for Sovereignty Charter.

The Council also hosted a discussion on which delegates should be sent to represent The League at the Partnership for Sovereignty. Several Council Delegates made recommendations that contributed to the Consulate’s final decision. The current cycle for Council member terms will end on 14 September, resulting in nominations for the upcoming term.

The Speaker of the Council at the time of this report is The Constitutional Republic of Zion.

Regarding topics about foreign affairs since 31 August 2021:

The League has signed a treaty with Thaecia (22 September 2021); The Treaty of Sarpedos has been signed by both parties.

All treaties have been copied (for archival purposes) to our new subforum, named the Buwaldan Hall of Diplomacy.

The Director of Foreign Affairs at the time of this report is Spode Humbled Minions.

The LDF this month continued to see growth welcoming in two new members into its ranks; currently the LDF maintains 17 members, nine members in active duty and eight in reserves.

Throughout the month of September there has been a decrease in raider activity allowing the LDF to participate in less defensive and detag operations. Furthermore the LDF has participated in the unsuccessful siege attempts upon The Union of Rightwing Nations, which has been held by a coalition of raider and independent forces.

Regular LDF record keeping will soon move fully offsite, split between an overview on our wiki and more detailed statistics on our new subforum, named the Andrew Du Center for Military Excellence.

The XIV session of the Council of the Republic has started and DinoNet has been appointed as the 4th Speaker of the Council. Her service as a Council Delegate for many months as well as Colonel of the LDF made her an easy choice for the appointment.

The Treaty of Sarpedos with Thaceia was negotiated by a delegation of Leaguers assigned by the Consulate, including Quebecshire, Spode Humbled Minions, New Makasta, and Amaan land. It was ratified on 24 September.

The Office of the Consulate at the time of this report is as follows,
Council Foreign Report
Authored by DinoNet.

On 14 September, the nomination cycle for the Council ended. Ajakanistan, DinoNet, New Makasta, and Protocol Rendezvous were all nominated and accepted to serve their term on the Council. Furthermore, DinoNet became the 4th Speaker of the Council as The Constitutional Republic of Zion stepped down from the position after 112 days. We would like to thank Zion for his service as well as welcome Ajakanistan for his first term on the Council.

The Speaker of the Council at the time of this report is DinoNet.
