Introduction and applying for the test version of SPACE.

Ping @USoVietnam on Discord or post in this thread for any question. Thanks!

What is this?
This is a test launch for the South Pacific Association of Card Exchange card program of the South Pacific. This test is carried out to verify the overall concept of the program and provide information to fix and improve on its aspects. Look below for an introduction on how the program works, how to participate, and what to expect.

So, what is SPACE all about and how does it works?
The South Pacific Association of Card Exchange is the planned official card program for the South Pacific. It will provide the space for the TSP card trading community and provide cards for other government bodies to use as incentive (e.g. SWAN awards, competition rewards,...).

Once you join SPACE, you may dedicate a few puppets you own to farming cards for the program. Any legendary and other cards SPACE deems valuable farmed on these puppets will be gifted to a central storage nation (you may use the banks collected and remaining cards on these puppets as you wish). As a reward, if you answer the nth most issues on all of your dedicated puppets during a month, you will receive (at the end of the month) the nth most valuable card the program collected that month. A leaderboard of answered issue counts on each member's dedicated puppets is displayed here (Link to be updated). Aside from this, the program will offer other perks like card request, pull events, giveaways,...

Since the concept we are using is a little bit new, it needs to be proven by a real test first. This test version focuses exclusively on the issue-count-based reward scheme so none of the extra features at the end of the above paragraph are included this time.

If this is a test, what are the risks?
The most important questions with this concept are:
  1. Will the program regularly collect enough cards to reward all the farmers while still leave some for SPACE's other purposes (e.g. to give to other government bodies for their incentive scheme)?
  2. Will rewarding based on issue count rank alone lead to unacceptable lack of high-MV cards for SPACE's other purposes?
  3. what will we do if the number of cards isn't enough for either (or both) purpose.

As such, a lot of things (e.g. the reward criteria) may change during the course of the test. For every major change, discussions between members will be done to make sure all changes are fair for everyone involved.

Cool! How do I apply then?
Just fill out this Google form.

If you apply the program to just check things out, participate in discussions, or hang out with other traders then you don't need to dedicate any puppets. If you want to participate in the farming scheme above, list out the name of puppets you want to dedicate in the form.

Can a beginner join this?
Of course! We don't yet have our own guides about card farming so if you are a beginner, you may want to check this external source first TNP Comprehensive Card Guide for beginners. After you have known the basics of trading, you can begin to farm. Just create many puppets as you want and answer issues on them. You will frequently get cards on these puppets. You can gift cards you want to your main nation (e.g. legendary cards) or to the SPACE storage nation (if you dedicate those puppets to farming for SPACE like above). You junk the remaining cards you don't care to get banks. You may transfer the banks to your main nation to purchase expensive cards you want or just to show off to other people. If you want to farm on large-scale (hundreds of puppets), you may want to set up a few tools. Check out how to setup the Containerise browser extension which will make answering issues on many puppets easier. Check this out to install a few useful scripts such as key bindings. Since there is yet a comprehensive guide on large-scale farming and other more advanced ways to play, you may want to ask the experienced members in the organization. Join the TSP regional server and check out the #card-trading channel if you haven't done so!
