The Cabinet wishes to express its complete disappointment in the actions of long-term and trusted members of our own community and several citizens of the East Pacific. The conspiracy to manipulate the Coalition's democratic process, by slowly and methodically getting foreigners to apply for citizenship with the intent to form a voting bloc in the November 2014 General Elections, is unacceptable in the South Pacific and in NationStates. It is sad that members of our community would even contemplate this egregious plan, simply because they do not like two members of the Cabinet who were elected openly and fairly.
The Cabinet has initiated recall procedures against Belschaft for his part in devising this conspiracy, and against God-Emperor for his knowledge of it and failure to notify any proper authority. We do not believe anyone who would entertain the conspiracy to manipulate elections should hold the office of Justice on our High Court, nor should they be a member of the Committee for State Security, our central security institution. It is as well disappointing that the Chief Justice would think of using his power to invalidate a treaty for political purposes.
We are also disappointed with several members of the East Pacific's government. Enacting the aforementioned conspiracy would have been a violation of regional sovereignty at the highest levels. We find particularly shocking the leadership role of Todd McCloud, currently a Vizier in the East Pacific, and a former forum administrator and election commissioner of the South Pacific. We hope that the East Pacific will respond in whatever ways are available and appropriate according to their laws. On our part, we have made the collective decision to declare the following individuals persona non grata, and therefore ineligible for citizenship, as a precautionary measure until after the November elections:
Thank you,
The Cabinet of the South Pacific
