We're moving to Discourse!

September 10

Coming this weekend*, we're moving over to a new forum software that's faster, newer, and works better: Discourse! (*Subject to change at the last minute because of life)

What does this mean for you?

New URL
You'll access the forums at thesouthpacific.org instead of tspforums.xyz
(This will help with our emails getting blocked!)

You'll need to register
Accounts will not transfer over. You'll need to register again. You can even join with your Discord account!

These forums will be archived
Nothing here will be lost! Once the transition is complete, these forums will be locked down. You'll be able to log in, but you won't be able to create any new posts.

What about the wiki?
The wiki will be moved to wiki.thesouthpacific.org, but this might take a bit longer than the forums. Our goal is to have the wiki fully ready a few days after the transition. Like it is now, you'll log in with your forum account.

What about my legislator status?
LegComm will be posting more details about this!

What about the Great Council?
The Great Council will continue on at the Discourse forums.

LEGISLATOR COMMITTEE ANNOUNCEMENT

To ensure account continuity and protect against bad actors using our forum transfer to infiltrate the Assembly by assuming the identity of an inactive or disengaged Legislator, we are asking all Legislators to verify their accounts with Legislator Committee on the new forum to obtain masking.

To verify your account, please do the following:
1. Send me () a private message on the MyBB forum (this forum) stating the name of your account on the new Discourse forum and a random 4 digit number of your choice (e.g. "8723"). You can use this link to send a forum PM more easily.

2. Send me (HumanSanity) a private message on the new Discourse forum (the other forum) stating the name of your account on the old MyBB forum and the same random 4 digit number of your choice. How to find the button for sending a PM is shown in this screenshot. It's at the top of the profile page that is linked here.

That’s correct. We won’t be running 2 forums simultaneously. On September 10, posting will be disabled on this forum. PMs will still work.

Yeah I kept trying this but the built-in security is having an "authentication code".
