I've volunteered to write some guides for the Handbook project. I'll be posting them here as they get finished. Expect the first one some time this weekend.
Thanks Arbiter08 Smile if you need anything let me know!
The Welcome Mat V2

Hello there, and welcome to The South Pacific! If you're reading this then you've at least shown some interest in our region. This guide will be a brief overview of the region, with links to in-depth guides on each individual part. It will also help you along the way to registering as a citizen, becoming a member of the South Pacific Special Forces (Our region's military, also known as the SPSF), and others if you so choose.

Where am I Now?

The section of the forum that you're currently in is called the "Welcoming and Registration Centre". Here you can apply for citizenship, join the SPSF, and introduce yourself to the region. There are other sections of the forum, covered in this guide {url="Don't have this guide finished yet"}here{/url}

What's Citizenship?

Citizens are residents of The South Pacific (TSP) who have joined the forums and applied for citizenship. Joining the Forum allows you to do many things, and becoming a citizen allows you to do even more! You can participate in the Assembly (TSP's law-making branch), run in elections, and vote!

"All these awesome benefits must have a huge cost!" I can hear you thinking. If so, then you're mistaken! All you need to do to become a citizen is have a nation residing in The South Pacific on the Nationstates website. That's it! Once you have one of those, you can apply for citizenship by filling out the handy form found here. There may be a slight wait while we work our magic, but after that then you'll be good to go!

Now, the application form has room for other stuff, such as a World Assembly nation. You aren't required to have one of those, but if you do then you need to tell us. Just kinda a  security thing, you know? You are also required to tell us if you've been involved in any regions in the past. No, we don't need to know that you went on a grand tour of Nationstates and joined every single region out there, but if you've applied for citizenship, or held any positions in those regions, that's when you need to list it.

What's this about joining the SPSF, and introducing myself?

Glad you asked! The South Pacific Special Forces is our region's military, and is covered in this guide {url="Don't have a link to put here"}here{/url}. If that interests you then you can apply to join it here.

Now, you can introduce yourself to us by posting a thread here in the Welcoming and Registration Center. You can do that by clicking this link and by filling it out.

Good luck, and don't be afraid to ask us any questions! We don't bite (that hard Tounge). You can PM us here on the forum, or send a telegram on the Nationstates website. The Delegate, Vice Delegate, and Minister of Regional Affairs are always  open for questions! (If you don't know who they are then you can always look {url="Reserved for the cabinet guide, which will include a list of current cabinet members"}here{/url}.
Note: If you have any images you want to add, or otherwise want to improve these guides feel free to do so.
The Assembly

The Assembly is the sole law-creating body of TSP. It is lead by the Chair of the Assembly, who manages discussions and moves things to a vote when appropriate. All citizens are automatically members of the Assembly. All citizens can create, discuss, and vote on proposals the moment their citizenship application has been processed.
