Plot: 115 years before Liberum Hominis in Terra was formed, there were two groups of people who were obsessed with the concept of defeating the other. These two groups were Venator, based in Apud-Cor-Men, and Aquapopu, based in Metroberg. The story begins with Trevor Infirma (Vic Seaborn), a peasant man who works in the trading streets in Freedom City (present day LHT city) selling his goods and his family's possessions (his mother had just died, and he was an only child, and still single well into his late twenties) hoping to earn enough money to go to one of the Aquapopian Universities and receive an education and find a job. His friend, Joe-Joe (Yaman Tiki), consoles him, telling him the military would be more profitable since he would be given food, shelter and money for doing nothing but hard work. Trevor puts off the thought, but lets Joe-Joe know that he would think it over. Away in Apud-Cor-Men, King Vic Rancor IX (Kal Leopold) informs his father, who is laying on his deathbed that he would declare war on Aquapopu, and bring honor to Venatore, crush the Aquapopians, and prove his advisors wrong. Vic Rancor IX's father agrees with his actions, wheezing and coughing, but warns him that he must live with his actions and not to let victory get to his head.

The following day, Vic Rancor IX addresses the people of Venator, and informs them that war will be claimed, and victory will be ensured if they all came together to crush the waterfolk. Catching word of this in Metroberg, President Truman Vernum (Simon Lars) tells his generals to capture every man in town and country and train them for combat, and sends his wife, Sydney Vernum (Lindsey Glenn) to the Port of Freedom to be safe from any form of Venatorian attack. In the trade streets, military men sack everything and take the men, including Trevor and Joe-Joe. Everyone is transported to a military base. Joe-Joe lets the guards know that he is already a soldier, and tells them Trevor was too. The guards let them go, but Trevor does not approve of his friends actions, lying about who he was. Joe-Joe claims that he just bailed his friend out of hard core training, and instead just helped him get in one of the military vehicles headed to the front. Trevor is hysteric by the turn of events, but Joe-Joe calms him down by letting him know that he is scared of going to the front alone with a bunch of men who he barely knew, and wanted a friend with him.

Back in Apud-Cor-Men, Uma (Selina Hemmberg), an adopted orphan girl who lives with a noble family is forced to the front by the Ventorian military to serve as 'relief and entertainment' for the Ventorian soldiers. She is taken to the front, but manages to escape. She is not the only person who should be committed to the Ventorian cause that has fled from the battlefield. Assigned to track these people down, Milan Stroning (Ivan Camus) is a ruthless and cruel man, and stops at nothing to capture the runaways.

As the war dragged on, Trevor felt his life was for nothing, surviving several close calls in combat (losing a finger in one battle, but was forced to continue fighting). One day, his platoon was stationed on one of the banks on the eastern side of Winwood river, and was ordered to receive a handoff of special cargo. No one in the platoon but the commander knew what the cargo was, or what it's importance was, but waited at their posts. Elsewhere as this was going on, the cargo, which was scientist Cee Mann (Mark Hightower), who had created a weapon, a massive naval ship that could sail up and down Winwood River, was being transported to the platoon. Among his escort included several refugees, including Uma.

Cee Mann was placed into Ventorian forces at the start of the war, and had been able to gather enough resources to create the said naval ship. He collected refugees to crew the ship as they made their getaway to Aquapopu, and the platoon of soldiers waiting for them were expected to serve as the military force of the crew. However before the rendezvous could occur, Milan Stroning intercepted the ship and captured it using his forces. He had the ship searched for Cee Mann, but he could not be found. Frustrated, he begins to have the refugees interrogated and executed.

Cee Mann arrived at the platoon on their fourth day of waiting. The commander knew that they were the only platoon stationed
for miles around, and it was guaranteed that this ship had to be stopped or it would make it all the way to Hyacintho Bay. The commander made the order to stop the ship, even though it could result in the deaths of all his men. They ducked out along the river and waited for the ship's arrival.

Back on the ship, Milan Stroning had gotten to interrogating Uma, as most of the other refugees were killed. He told her how he had been informed that her family had been killed (he makes it sound as though they were casualties in an attack, but she believes them to have been executed). Milan brutally continued to interrogate Uma, until she finally broke, telling him that Cee Mann had made it off the ship, and that their was a group of Aquapopu soldiers waiting for them. Pleased with this information and success at breaking her, he kills her and the rest of the refugees.

Later that night the ship arrives at the location where the Aquapopu platoon is waiting. Silently they board the ship from several sides. A fight breaks out on several decks of the ship. Joe-Joe and Trevor are together when Joe-Joe is shot in the head and his brains splatter everywhere. Shocked at the sudden death of his only friend Trevor breaks down and holds his friend's headless body. All around him Aquapopu soldiers are getting killed until a stray bullet hits Trevor in the shoulder, breaking him from his sadness and into a vengeful anger. He kills all the rest of the Venatorian soldiers, including Milan Stroning. A mortally injured Trevor then seeks out Cee Mann to see what they can do with the ship. All Cee Mann suggests as he bleeds out is to let the ship sail the course of the river, just as people should stop controlling everything and start letting nature and life do what it does. Mann dies after saying this, so Trevor crawls over to the remains of Joe-Joe and waits for death to come for him.

Screen will fade to black and in texts will describe that the ship was captured by Aquapopian soldiers, and that Trevor was still alive and survived his injuries and would go on and live a long life. It also goes on to say how many people were killed in the conflict, and how the war ended with a cease fire that saw no change in power, land or moral from the beginning of the war. It is often dubbed the needless war.
