Alright, well, I'm sure we're all aware of what happened in Osiris. If not, here's the link:

Pretty much, I honestly don't know much about Osiris, but, Spiritus has already released a statement condemning the coup, and Ravenclaw has apparently already been tied to the counter-coup movement.

Spiritus Statement: http://tspforums.xyz/thread-3996.html

Given that our allies have already condemned it, I think we should follow suite with a statement of our own and possibly revoking the citizenship of persons involved. It'd be a good step to re-establishing relations with Osiris and attempting to get them to actually establish a democracy. While I understand we have our own issues at the moment, I figure at least a statement is at least a good step for now.

How about you guys?
I'm not seeing Spiritus' statement.

Spiritus, TNP and Laz make three allies who pulled embassies. Euro and TRR still have embassies. (And I don't consider Balder an ally, fwiw, but they still have an embassy.)

If we're going to release anything, let's say something like Elegarth and TWP released. Maybe something like, TSP isn't well enough involved with Osiris to make any critical decisions on the legality of these actions and we hope the entire situation is resolved quickly and peacefully. For good measure, we can offer up something like "We look forward to future dealings with the prevailing side."

Let's hold an official vote on it. Far — do you have time to draft something? If not, I should have some time later tonight.

PS: Can we take a vote on releasing something like that?

Honestly, If our allies are doing it, I say we support them in condemning the coup. It's shows consistency and support amongst our allies, builds greater bonds, etc etc. Worst case scenario if a counter-coup fails is that relations remain as frosty as they were before, so, we don't exactly have much to lose.
I'm going to have to agree with Resentine here. We show support for our allies and potentially gain a good rep with the a potential counter-coup. And if it fails we just have a region that still doesn't like us. A statement of neutrality would probably just lower our opinion with both sides at best.
If we're not going to support or denounce either side we're better off doing nothing at all rather than issue a statement like that.
I say we do nothing, or release the statement along the lines of what Tsu suggested.

Really just feels like we are looking into this way too hard.
I think we should denounce these actions and remove citizenship from all involved. These were quite clearly illegal and corrupt actions and though it seems there was corruption in the election that is no reason for a coup. This is awfully similar to our own coup and even if you don't want to denounce it due to moral reasons this could lead to stronger ties between our two regions. We should denounce these actions and threaten to use military action along with our allies if Cormac refuses to stand down.
Either way, there's no threat to us. It's not like this is a wide ranging NPO supported thing, like Laz was.

Really, looking it over again, I don't think there's any dispute it's a coup. They actively removed the delegate from election play and freely admit it. I thought it was more about contested elections.

We can say something like while we understand there may be a dispute in the election results, that is no reason to overthrow the entire government without input from the citizenry.
If we're going to stay neutral in this then we shouldn't bother issuing a statement at all unless asked. If we're going to condemn the coup we might as well say it instead of trying to preserve relations while doing so.
