Fellow Legislators.

I am going to be candid and short. We have to recognize that Chair of the Assembly is a thankless but crucial job in the region. The position of Chair of the Assembly is crucial since the Chair administers the Assembly, the heart of our democracy. Ensuring that Assembly is able to debate and pass legislation is a core responsibility of the Chair. The Chair is also a thankless job because in the last four months we have had three different Chairs resign rather than see out the rest of their terms for a variety of reasons. Especially our last two Chairs, who resigned due to the hostile political drama that became more prevalent in recent months.

I fully admit that I have no experience prior to running Chair of the Assembly. I do not have a long history or an established reputation to help me “sell” my qualifications to be your next Chair of Assembly. I will not make promises I cannot keep such as making the Assembly more open and welcome, or promoting new legislation. Those are promises that require the cooperation of the Assembly and above the scope of a single user. What I can promise though, is that I will be fully accountable to the legislators, and that I will do the utmost to keep the Assembly running smoothly. I will own up to any mistakes that I make as Chair, and I will do what I can to ensure that our laws and procedures are respected when moderating the forums and chats. I will also seek assistance and advice from past Chairs, so that I can serve the assembly better by learning from the mistakes and triumphs of past Chairs.

It is my hope that the introduction of new blood will provide newer opportunities and less chances for the Chair to resign as a result of Political drama.

Having said that, I open the thread to questions.
2 questions:
1. What do you plan to do should you loose the election?
2. What kind of chair and gavel would you like?

1. In the event I lose, I will first congratulate Farengeto for winning the election and wish him well as our next Chair of the Assembly. Afterwards, I will continue to do what I've always done in the region, such as read, interpret, debate, and vote on our laws, and world build in the roleplay threads.

2. I  don't have a preference but a comfortable chair would be nice with an oak gavel.
One question, chickens or turkeys which is sillyer?
Turkeys. The fact that they have a country, are bred specifically to be killed for thanksgiving and their silly appearance makes them sillier than Chickens
With voting beginning in just over two hours, is there anything else you would like to say?
