Ladies and gentlemen of the Assembly,
Vote Beepee for MoRA
I stand before you today asking you to "vote for the bee!" (again)... this time I'd like to have your vote for MoRA.
Our beloved Panda/PS2 has done an incredible job as MoRA (I will not hear a single bad word said against him) over the past few months but has informed us he's not likely to run again. I'd like to try and live up to his highest of standards.
For me, MoRA has four main actions:
1. promote activity,
2. integrate new players,
3. organise events, and
4. communicate the South Pacific’s activities.
In my opinion, none of these things stand alone, and each tie in with the other, and this forms the basis of my campaign today.
Integration (Action 1, 2, 3 and 4)
From my time on the RMB, I'm comfortable at welcoming new nations and guiding them to and through the forums, to give them an understanding and overview of what the benefits of being legislator are, the various areas of the onsite and offsite forums, etc.
Welcoming new WA members, and promoting SWAN, encourages more nations to join WA.
I think Pandas '12hour welcome reminder ' is excellent at promoting a positive, engaged TSP face and I would seek to keep this going.
Further, Promoting discussion, raises awareness of WA matters and can assist in feedback.
Working with the LC and the Delegate will be important to ensure gameside is included and integrated within the wider offsite structure. Putting on events which cut across platforms and can promte activity and potentially lead nations crossing those platform divides.
Dispatch Organisation (Actions 1, 2 and 4)
Having a clear set of dispatches which inform and clarify the scary big world of TSP is important. USoV (and others) has done great work on updating the information within our dispatch catalogue. I'd like this to carry on and assist to make our catalogue more user friendly, more accessible and easy to navigate.
I'd like to get feedback from our LC/Delgate on ways to support their needs in terms of welcoming and integrating further.
Journalism (Actions 1, 2, 3 and 4)
We have a number of wonderful news organisations and I'd like to bring this back to the fore as a way of communicating across platforms; utilising the best of our silly and serious sides to entertain and inform our citizens of the goings on across the region.
The Coconut Press is a great way of brining out some of the long form talent within our great region.
SJ, SlowNews, quicknews, etc, have all in the past been important vehicles for communication of our Coalition and Regional goals and culture.
As a result, I'd like to try and organise a serious news brief to be issued semi-regulaly, say monthly or bimonthly, and a far more frequent MoRA bulletin service perhaps incorporating cabinet interviews, AMAs, legislative updates, and gameside news. Which can be turned around quickly, say weekly or biweekly and with a few days notice.
Cultural Events (Actions 1, 2 and 3)
As stated above, I'd like to work with the LC and Delegate to promote events across gameside, forumside and discordside. Also using the gameside vehicle as a way to promote cross-platform interaction, for example through events, such as games, AMAs, cultural dates etc, which can transcend platforms. These not only entertain but can also promote activity and integration across formats and can be lead by others to promote a sense of growth and ownership within in the region.
In order to assist my campaign and to consider the work necessary for an organised and successful campaign, I have drafted an outline proposal to set up the key elements.
Naturally, this timeline would be subject to significant change and can only be implemented in disucssion and conjunction with the rest of the Cabinet.
Further, obviously, these matters can't be done alone, and there is a good team of MoRA there, who I would seek to assist, lead, etc on key points/events, etc. However, I would need to ensure that there is an expanded, but solid group of talented individuals who can assist in many of the larger and smaller projects and seeking to pull in non-forum talent as a way of building up our base and creating further integration. This would mean actively seeking help from within our TSP family to aid and carry forward our work.
In conclusion, I would be delighted to receive your vote for MoRA and, if elected, will work tirelessly for the benefit of all TSP.
If my serious side hasn't swayed you, perhaps my fun side will.... please see my Campaign Dispatch
I'm happy to take your questions.
