Serres Shoots For RA
A brief history of TSR that will function as a COI Disclosure.
Hello again everyone, it is that time of year once more and this time the reliable ghost that never misses an election is running for Minister of Regional Affairs. For the past four months, I have been your Prime Minister. The journey into 2019 was a story of redemption for The South Pacific, proving once again how resilient we are as a region in the face of hardship and foreign criticism. Today we stand, just a month into the New Year, stronger and more active than ever. While I have been a member of The South Pacific for my entire Nation States career; we have had a remarkable influx of new faces join the region recently in turn with the positive growth we've seen over the last term and a half, in line with this I would like to walk our newer people through a history lesson of my involvement in the region.

1: Extensive work across all Ministries within TSP

In 2015 I first joined NationStates after migrating from the Roleplaying website IwakuRoleplay.com. This was at the behest of the Admin team at the time, who were advertising NS and the region Iwaku at the request of Vandoosa, who is related to the owner. My Nation appeared (somewhat ironically) in The West Pacific and within minutes I joined Iwaku and began speaking with Vandoosa. He took the time to educate me on many of the advanced concepts of the game. After that discussion and a few days of thought and nation development, I decided that The South Pacific was the home for me.

After getting to know the members of the TSP Cabinet via telegram I quickly signed up as a legislator, becoming an advocate in the assembly for policies that benefitted newer players over older ones, making the transition from Citizen to Legislator as fun and easy as possible was and still is my primary goal in the region. I quickly settled into the MoRA and the MoMA. I ran in an election a mere two weeks after joining (Ironically for MoRA) and was utterly defeated. If my memory serves me correctly I think I only got five votes. However, I was ecstatic! People had voted for me! This NS thing was fun as heck!

Not too long afterward, however, tragedy struck in the form of a regional coup by the Hileville administration. During this time I tried my best to operate as a mediator for both sides and I gained a lot of insight and respect for the veterans of the region. Afterward, due to an RL circumstance, I was forced to step away from NS for a year.

2: Extensive work in Foreign Affairs and Military Affairs

Upon my return, I immediately embraced the military, being personally trained by the MoMA (Yuno at the time) on all things R/D. It was not long before I was one of the fastest chasers (and taggers) around. My intuitive understanding of the mechanics wowed my superiors and to this day I am an officer in our military. It was during this time that I got an interest in FA and started my work as an ambassador for our region serving both officially and unofficially as a representative for TSP all across NS. I got to know communities across the platform, made friends and spoke highly of TSP wherever I could!

All the while I ran in every election that I could, losing every single one of them until finally halfway through last term I was appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs in order to cover for Resentine who unfortunately had to retire from the region. I worked tirelessly to rebuild and re-establish the Ministry which, like many of TSP's agencies, had seen a serious decline in activity and reliability. Through both my work and the work of Somyrion this term we have seen the Ministry become extremely active and reliable. (This is the part where I shameless tell you that Somyrion is amazing and that you should go tell him that.)

I then took that wave into a campaign for Prime Minister last term, with my primary goal being the organization and maintenance of the Cabinet as a whole. This term, with the help of my fellow cabinet members, I truly believe that we have done that. While our Cabinet has been quiet, it has been somewhat intentional. Serious work has been done to mend relations and re-establish the PM seat as one of leadership and I am proud to say that moving into this term I am completely confident that the next Cabinet, whoever it may be, will have a shining example of professionalism, respect, and teamwork to look back on. (this is the part where I shamelessly tell you that everyone in our last Cabinet is wonderful and beautiful and amazing.)

As I move forward into the RA, I plan to do what I've always done, refurbish and re-define. Let's work towards a Ministry of Regional Affairs we can all be proud of!

3: Nation in TSP: The Serres Republic
4: Other Aliases: Hundreds of Puppets for SPSF operations.
5: Positions held outside of TSP: None.
Now, For The Actual Campaign
Seven paragraphs in and we are only now starting the campaign. I mean, length can sometimes mean quality! So, first I would like to answer a very simple question that I have for myself, and for you, the voters. What is the Ministry of Regional Affairs?

Is it the festival Ministry? The RP Ministry? The Ministry in charge of welcoming new legislators?

No, it is none of these things. It is, and I'm stealing this quote, sorry Roavin, The most important Ministry in the entire region. RA is the heart of TSP, it represents and defines our culture. It is the first thing new members see, the thing they see the most, and the Ministry responsible for everything we do here in the region that involves the region. The biggest constructive feedback I got this term was a lack of presence. New legislators didn't know who I was, or what my goals were and now I have a chance to show you. You've been told (see COI) but now I am going to show you. I am a TSPer through and through, always have been, most likely always will be. This term I have one goal and one goal only. Make MoRA be everywhere. RA activity will skyrocket under my leadership in an organized and fun way. I plan to support every aspect of the office. From RP to Festival planning to Event management to Discord server voice chats. I want to see activity and lots of it. I am going to go off listing a bunch of plans I have for these increased activity goals, but for those TL;DR folks that I know are out there, that is the goal.

Activity, Activity, Activity.

First, Discord voice chats. Early into the last term, Roavin began to host morning Voice Chats where we all enjoyed listening to him huff and puff his way to work every morning. It was great. I plan to reignite these VC's. from 8 am - 9 am PST I will be in voice chat in the Lampshade bar, talking to you all. Everything from just hanging out to hyping up and coming events, I will be there, leading you on an exciting journey through the term.

Second, Roleplay Events. We have a somewhat active and deep Roleplaying community here in TSP and I want to buff it up a little more. I will be working closely with our RPers to plan events in TSPs RP world, something that I have never gotten involved with until now despite my love for RP on other platforms. People that participate in events are even going to get fancy rewards in the form of badges that I will be getting the artists in RA to help work on developing in the early weeks. (Thanks for Volunteering everyone! ;p)

Third, Festivals! That's right; we are doing festivals again. It's happening. What is coming and when is a big hush hush right now but let's say I have tons of ideas and will be working with everyone in RA to build upon them! (even going to get some from those people that have been itching to do festivals for the last two terms.)

Fourth, Everything we've always been doing. Every single event we've always done in RA will continue with the same vim and vigor it has always had! Nothing will be sacrificed as we push forward into the new year.

I am extremely excited about the opportunity to lead RA into the future and I know that TSP is excited too. For some of you, this is the first time you will be seeing me and I know that can be a little off-putting but I promise you. Yes you, look at my Avatar while I'm telling you this. I will be the best damn MoRA you have ever seen. Get. Hyped.

And with that, I open the floor to questions! Hit me with those hard balls, voters!
I'll be honest, for the long time I was just someone over on gameside and had never even touched forumside you were always just "that one pm person who doesn't talk and has a cute flag" >~<

I've seen you a bit more since I joined forumside though ^-^ I don't really have any big questions, I usually prefer to let other people ask those and just observe, but just as a clarification question, where will you be advertising these events? Cause for reasons that would be entirely too vexing and complicated to explain I don't have access to Discord, as of now, so I wouldn't be able to check there for updates. Also do you plan on growing your gameside presence at all during your office? (not that this is necessarily necessary, just I would like to see more of the government connecting to people gameside, you guys can sometimes tend to be kind of ghosts over there)

[Also I liked your avatar before, it was cute ;-; this one's nice too I guess ^-^]

Ooh a question! (disclaimer I like cute things too, my Discord version of this says 'juice that makes you stare at cute things' and I find it hilarious)

Now your question:

First, everywhere. Forumside, Discord, Gameside, you name it it's getting put out. In fact I plan to bring our festivals to game side too as in the past they have only taken place on Discord (which is silly!) Events geared specifically for the Gameside part of our region is something I want to work closely with the LC on and you can expect to see a rise in activity on that side of things!

And yes! I definitely want to be more of a presence Gameside and plan too. I sometimes hang out on the RMB anyways and I love all of the regulars over there. Expect seeing more of me in the coming term as both an average citizen/legislator and as your MoRA if I get elected.

1. I'm glad ^~^ It would definitely be nice to have some gameside activities though I still enjoy just chatting with people daily :p Also, in the case you elected, I wish you good luck with who's chosen as the next LCs and who you have to work with, we already have a few wild cards running so that could be good or bad depending on how luck favors you >~<

2. In that case I'll be expecting you if you win ^~^ I've been much more of a gameside persona right up until lately so you can expect to see me over there daily if you start showing up yourself more often, though I tend to get on at weird times compared to everyone else so you might not even bump into me >~?

Thanks for answering my questions ^-^
The MoRA server has been, how do I put this....dead. It's been dead. This has been a large issue for a couple of months now.
I recently saw a new Ministry member get no introduction to how the MoRA works. They had to ask, and it was never answered by a Minister or AC member, if I recall correctly.
How are you going to pull of the hard job of spiking activity in the MoRA planning servers, and how will you guide new Ministry Members through the process?
Additionally, do you plan on making MoRA membership more selective then basically 'everyone gets in"?
Finally, how will you work with a place near and dear to my heart, the #art-studio?

Ooh good questions, and all easily answered ;p

1: By being present. I will be there every day, talking, discussing, welcoming, and working on projects with every member of RA Leading them by example.
2: Easy again. You get membership by being active and participating. I will be redefining and reorganizing the application process as I did for FA and then, every month if you haven't posted without officially requesting a hiatus, I will remove you from that particular team. Reapplication will always be an option but if you want to maintain your position as a member of a certain aspect of RA you have to be active!
3: Well, every area is going to get love and I plan on working with the veterans of each office to help redefine their favorite areas of RA in an image they, I and TSP can be proud of. #art-studio is included on that list. I'll be there with you and the other members that love it, expanding it and developing it until we can all be happy with the work it produces for the region!
