Islands for MoRA
[Image: q6A1Dx6.jpg]

who i am
I am Islands of Unity, you're probably atleast aware of me, but i'll run down the major stuff: Two cabinet terms ago I had the honor of serving as MoRA, I am currently the Deputy Chair of the Assembly, I am currently serving on the MoRA Advisory Council, and I ran for Delegate once. Aside from the political, I am proud to have passed my first anniversary of Legislator status in TSP in April.
why me?
I believe that I represent the true interest of the south pacific common person, people want new ideas and fresh blood in TSP, I believe that I have both to offer. I have been MoRA before and am very familiar with the ministry, my hope is that I can serve the region in that capacity again.
my ideas and what i hope to accomplish
For the last few months I have constantly been thinking of and writing down my ideas for events and activities for TSP to enjoy, I have been formulating policy ideas, and thinking of where TSP should be heading. My ideas for each department are as follows
ART CORPS
My vision includes utilizing the Art Corps to cooperate with the incoming MoMA to create ribbons and medals for military and general regional activity, as a way to increase buy in to regional and spsf matters.
INTEGRATION
My vision for integration involves it being the front and center day to day work of the Ministry. Some concrete plans I have formulated include: Recruiting drives foucusing on citizens active on discord and the rmb, automatic bot welcome messages including all the information needed to join the assembly, recruiting top talent from friendly regions, and welcoming each new person personally.
EVENTS
During the upcoming term the regional Independence Day will occur, I intend on having an event based on this. My vision includes utilizing events as a way to increase "buy in" in the region, to promote cohesion, and frankly as a way for us to have fun and enjoy our time spent in TSP. Other events I have thought of or mentioned to the current MoRA include: Democratic chess games, TSP SNL sketch writing, and a literature reading based event (as suggested by Seraph).
JOURNALISM
The writers corps has a lot of moving pieces at the moment, my vision includes utilizing them to continue production of the regional newspaper, to participate in TSP SNL sketch events, and to assist with roleplay. The primary concern of course being the production of newspaper articles, I believe that this can be achieved through thorough marketing to non departmental legislators and citizens to drum up hype, and by following deadlines that are set in stone.
ROLEPLAY
Roleplay is something that draws people into the region, and my vision includes utilizing this as a way to find new talent and attract people into the assembly. This is the department that I intend on interacting the least with, as it is naturally occuring and doesnt require hands on intervention.
*NEW* WA ACTIVITES
My vision includes utilizing the ministry structure to get the ball rolling on more direct WA regional contol. I believe that starting this venture as a RA task will allow us to figure out where it should end up: Be it a Regional Affairs matter, something the MoFA could handle, or wether it should be controlled by its own ministry.
The Advisory Council
My vision for the Advisory Council includes using Department heads to lead the staff, I used this method last time and it can prove to be very effective with a few tweaks.

What do you mean by "Democratic chess games?"

This is a fun one!

I thought of it based off of this match: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kasparov..._the_World

The assembly could vote on the moves for a whole game vs either another group or an individual. This is an idea for an event
Thank you for running Islands Smile

Here are four generic questions to better get to know your candidacy:

(1) Do you believe the portfolio of regional affairs is too all-encompassing and would you support splitting it?

(2) Irrespective of the previous question, the MoRA is expected to manage multiple projects at any given time — what experiences and skills do you bring to the table in this regard?

(3) Can you provide further details on how exactly you will work towards greater participation of the gameside community in regional activities?

(4) How would you characterise your involvement in the ministry over the last four months?

(4) How would you characterise your involvement in the ministry over the last four months?

(1) Well if we consider the idea behind the ministry, I believe that it's size is entirely appropriate, I'm not totally against partitioning into two ministries with different foucuses, but I believe that the Ministry as it stands accurately deals with the major internal non military and non forigen affairs in the region.

(2) Multitasking is something that's possible on this scale as the departments and departmental staff can work and intersect independently. It's much easier to achieve say an event planning meeting and a journal publication simultaneously when there are a mix of common and independent staff working on both projects.

(3) Gameside is doing their own thing, the pure and simple fact is that most people in tsp are there to awnser issues, not to participate on the level that we do. I do hope to recruit people from gameside to the forum side, but it's not my #1 priority.

(4) In the last 4 months I've worked with the MoRA and the advisory council on plans and ideas for events, I also helped and participated in max Barry day celebrations organized during beepee's term. Considering the level of activity in the ministry I'd consider myself one of the more active ministry staffers.
Thank you for your considered answered Smile

Sorry i forgot about this question!

I don't have any plans for tspu, but I'm willing to listen to why you think it should be a part of the ministry!
