DECLARATIONS OF CANDIDACY
JULY 2021 MINISTER OF CULTURE SPECIAL ELECTION
Fellow South Pacificans,
It is once again time to elect a new Minister of Culture. Article 4 of the Elections Act, which also applies for special elections, stipulates:
4. Offices of the Cabinet
(1) On the first of every February, June and October, the Assembly will convene to elect the Prime Minister and the Cabinet.
a. For the first 6 days of the election period, legislators may declare their candidacy for only one position.
b. After 3 days, a campaign period of one week will start, where candidates may campaign and the Assembly will debate the merits of their platforms.
c. After the week-long campaign period, a voting period of 3 days will start. Legislators will cast their ballots for each position. Legislators may choose to abstain from voting on any or all positions.
(2) The candidate for each position with the most votes will be declared the Minister-elect by the Election Commission.
(3) The terms for the incoming Prime Minister and Cabinet ministers will begin the week after elections, during which any and all election-related disputes must be settled. The outgoing Prime Minister and Cabinet ministers will maintain their offices until then.
• Declarations shall begin on July 25 at 12 AM (UTC) and conclude on July 31 at 12 AM (UTC) (click for countdown).
• Campaigning shall begin on July 28 at 12 AM (UTC) and conclude on August 04 at 12 AM (UTC) (click for countdown).
• Voting shall begin on August 04 at 03 AM (UTC) and conclude on August 07 at 03 AM (UTC) (click for countdown).
Please consider time zone differences when reviewing the deadline for each stage in the election. It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with all legal requirements within the mandated time frames (click for time zone conversion).
If you wish to nominate someone or declare your candidacy, please reply to this thread. To be listed on the ballot, candidates must have a campaign thread and a Conflict of Interest disclosure. Good luck to all the candidates!
Faithfully yours,
The Election Commissioner

Nominate Langburn, Aga and Rabbitz and second Doge
After considering HumanSanity's nomination and privately drafting my thoughts for my campaign, I accept the nomination to stand in the Minister of Culture election.
I accept the nomination from the dinosaur with a ram jpeg

I thank you for my nomination but I'd like to decline. I'm not even sure if I'm currently eligible to run.

Oh, I'm still a legislator. Never mind
Upon further reviewing, I retract my candidacy for MoC with the reason being that the candidates presented would be far better Ministers in this field than me.
