Former dictator Trent Von Mayer's death sentence has been commuted to life imprisonment, after a four-year moratorium was placed on the use of the death penalty. The moratorium was proposed by President Kerenskiy and supported by the governing Socialist Coalition (composed by the Social-Democratic Party and the President's own party, the People's Party). The bill passed easily, due to the Coalition having a majority in both houses of the National Assembly.

Sign ups for the republics have gotten so high that the government has decided to suspend the sign up process, but to keep the current territorial status of the republics. About 2.67 million people enlisted, more than the ~1-1.5 million refugees in Kyrini. Many say that the extra people were Kyrinian citizens and Ryccian and Laiwanese refugees from other nations who flocked to live in the republics.
