Forum Administration Act
#101

*puts on CoA hat*

So guys, we now have two extensive threads on this. Do we have legislation we want to come from this or not?

So, in other words, an active account was deleted?

If his account was deleted then obviously it was unused. That's not even a serious question.

So, back to my original question in the original thread... what's constituting "active"? Log in? Posts?

Activation and 1 post, RT. That secures activity "forever."

Ok. Let me rephrase.

If one logs in every day for the next 7 days, but doesn't post, will their account be deleted because they aren't "active"?

... I'm going to defer to GR or Kris on that. I'm not familiar enough with the intricacies of the process.

However, it's my understanding that they would.

I keep seeing the call for compromise, but the assembly really isn't in the position to compromise. This is an admin policy dictated by the admins.

If you want my input, clean up inactive accounts after a year.

Rebs & Tsu: rights now pruning is set to accounts that were never activated or haven't posted in 7 days.

SB: I think a year is too much, but it's still something I could work with.

I really just want a time frame that would show clear abandonment. Even half a year would be okay, but the issue is one week is very aggressive, and the case we have shows that accounts that are inactive for a week aren't always abandoned.

That sounds reasonable to me. I can't speak for Tsu or Glen, but I'm willing to go along with that.
