Mafia Rules

1. The game will begin when everyone receives PMs informing them of their roles, which will be chosen randomly.

2. The game will begin with a Day phase, followed by a Night phase, another Day phase, etc. Day and Night phases will last no longer than 72 hours.

3. In each day phase, all townspeople will vote as one in the game thread on who should be hanged, if anyone. Discussion can occur around this; an accused person can defend themselves, people can discuss the matter, etc. Majority rules. The moment someone has a majority, any new votes or changes in votes will be ignored. Ties result in no hanging. Bold Text should be used for official votes.

4. In each Night phase, the game thread will be closed. Roles that are allowed to do so will converse, and those who have actions to take during the night will be sending me PMs with their orders.

5. All order PMs must be sent with the role and the Day/Night number in the subject line, with a separate PM for each order, or they will be ignored. The Night numbers are the same as the previous Day's number.

6. Each Day phase will begin with my posting the results of the prior night, meaning who was killed (if anyone) and anything else that might have occurred.

7. When someone dies, be it by hanging or murder, they shall be removed from the game, no longer allowed to post in the thread at all. They cannot reveal any information they might have gained.

8. Communication is to be limited as follows:

• Day phase: Communication will be limited, for all players, to posts within the game thread, unless their role specifically allows other communication.
  
• Night phase: The game thread will be locked; the only communication that can occur is from those who have roles allowing it.
  

This only refers to communication regarding the game; I would not presume to limit unrelated conversation.

9. If a player is entirely inactive for two full phase cycles, they will be removed from the game.

10. When someone dies, their role will be revealed. While alive, you can announce what your role is, if you want, but know that The Salaxalans will not confirm or deny your statement. However, you CANNOT quote your role PM.

11. The color Office green (#008000) is reserved for use by The Salaxalans. Use of Office green text by anyone other than The Salaxalans will result in either a warning or an immediate death, depending on the situation. Attempting to sidestep this rule by using a different shade of blue will not be tolerated.

12. The Salaxalans is given the ability to do whatever he feels is necessary to keep the game running smoothly. This rule takes precedence over all others.
