Aggie For Delegate! |
CAMPAIGN: Endorsements - WA Inclusivity - Activity and Collaboation - Fun!
MISCELLANEOUS: Fellow South Pacifians, I'm Agalaesia, or Aggie for short, your current Minister of Regional Affairs, RMB lover, endotarter, and Regional raspberry. Today, The South Pacific asks its citizens a vital question. It asks who should be your World Assembly Delegate. You have the world of choice, a whole boulevard of options, and yet, I am asking for you to lend me your vote. Why? Because I believe we need minor changes that can go a long way. I believe that we need small reforms to how we conduct World Assembly voting, to how the delegate assists with integration affairs. I have a broad experience in Regional Affairs, where I have worked in Integration, and I also have experience in Foreign Affairs, where I have also worked. I also encourage you to read my campaign, and ask questions in this thread, on Discord, or on the RMB! Campaign Pledge I: Increasing the Endorsement Count
The Long Read:
Firstly, I'm a daily endotarter, and I use a mixture of SWAN, Discord Bots and on site filters to stay on top. Although I have no SWAN awards (I usually tend to blame it on my time zone ), I am usually in the top 50 or top 10 in two out of the three SWAN endorsement categories (see here, here, here and here). Now, for the endorsement days. Started by delegate Aumeltopia, endorsement days are a fun and engaging way to increase endorsements, and these have proven to be very successful so far. Although they are successful, there are a few problems with them. Firstly, the endorsement days are organised so that the person who has been giving the most endorsements throughout the past 24 hours wins the event. This gives an unfair advantage to people who have recently joined the World Assembly, and while there is no problem with that from an integrational standpoint, as it motivates new people to join the WA, it leaves many successful endotarters unrecognised, as most successful endotarters tend to tart daily. This can also cause an increased number of WA resignations and re-applications, as people wish to win the event, but, cannot, because they have already previously endorsed a large majority of the region. To combat this problem, I believe that we should look into reforming endorsement days. The region should look into only giving out rewards for endorsement days for monthly awards, in effect creating an endorsement "month", and the awards are given out based on the first person in each SWAN category. This would not only limit the WA resignations, it would also motivate newer people to remain in the World Assembly, and to continue endorsing. And who knows, perhaps one day, a young one will knock Qvait off the top spots? Lastly, I would give a random endorser of the delegate a card or a similar reward (like having names on the WFE, etc.). This would encourage more people to endorse the delegate, and increase the endorsement count. Campaign Pledge II:
Making the World Assembly More Inclusive
The Long Read:
Recently, there has been a massive shift in feeling about the World Assembly. Currently, the region is discussing whether a Ministry of World Assembly Affairs should be created. We are now recognising the importance of the Security Council and the General Assembly. Until a Ministry of World Assembly Affairs is created I believe that it is the delegate's job to promote the other mechanics of the WA. The apathy about the WA, GA (General Assembly) and SC (Security Council) I think comes from cluelessness and lack of information. To combat this, I believe we should create a World Assembly guide for both the SC and the GA. I, as delegate, would personally look to find guest authors, some from TSP, possibly some from abroad, to assist in writing this guide for TSP. I'll be honest about it, I don't have much experience in GA and SC matters, although, at the time of writing, I am working on a proposal for the Security Council with none other than Concrete Slab and another individual. I would also assist in the creation of a WA focus group, which, would be influenced, but not headed by the delegate. This would look into improving SC and GA engagement. The Focus Group should take into account regional surveys and polling. Campaign Pledge III:
Fun, Fun, Fun and More Fun!
The Long Read:
I really like fun and games, and, despite being your Minister of Regional Affairs, I am not a boring old forumite . I would propose making coup Tuesdays a regular thing. I would also assist with promoting events for ministries, and assisting the Local Council in promoting the events. In case you don't know what coup Tuesdays are, coup Tuesdays is when the delegate reforms the looks of the region to make it look like its been couped! We can also do themed coups, like a Star Wars themed coup, a Harry Potter themes etc. Aga/Eunopiar

NatSov or IntFed?
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.
Has Been What's Next? CoA: August 2016-January 2017

I haven't participated much in the General Assembly to have a full opinion, however, from my limited knowledge about the issue, I think it's important for nations to maintain their sovereignty, however, I do not believe that the World Assembly is seeking to take away sovereignty from a nation. I also don't think we should be taking away sovereignty. Anyway, I don't think that either opposite works, and we must find a compromise. Anyway, if I were elected delegate I would always vote with the region, unless the cabinet vetoes my vote, and wishes to change it. My personal opinion would have little to do with what I vote for. This award will be given out weekly.. Without commenting on the rest of your campaign, I would like to mention that I really like this idea. I was just looking at the card lottery that TNP has established to feed into their WA endorsement and participation programs, and (as with most tech things TNP does) I was quite impressed. I don't know if we could manage the same scale that they have (1500 card-farming puppets!) -- or even if we'd want to copy their ideas -- but it's definitely worth thinking about how we might incorporate the card mechanism as a reward. Or maybe it's just worth remembering for three months from now that the annual April Fools minigames can probably be repurposed in some creative way as a tool, and when that time comes around, start thinking about what we can do. ~ Aumeltopia ~

I'm sure that my planned coup of the MoRA servers will go unnoticed by Kringle for more than 24 hours. Would that mean that I beat Fedele? On a slightly more serious note, I would never dream of couping. Aga/Eunopiar

OOH I HAVE A QUESTION FOR THE CANDIDATE! (a serious one, actually!)
Cake or Pie? If you had to make a general "mission statement" for your Delegacy, what would it be and why? What ideologies would you stand for? |
