I South Pacific Regional Games
#1

Let's get to work!

The I South Pacific Regional Games are to be inaugurated on 7 September 2014, which means we have close to one month to get everything ready. I want to get all of the following done by 25 August, so that we have the remaining time to address any unforeseen incidents and inviting our allies:
  1. Planning the Opening Ceremony
  2. Choosing our challenges, partly based on the challenges for the past Games (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) but making them even more dynamic and engaging. Personally I'd like to have 1, 4 and 5, but that's for the entire MoRA Staff to decide, based on how long we want the Games to last and the theme for it
  3. Deciding the prizes for the winning team and for all other teams
  4. Planning the Closing Ceremony and when to hold it

I believe there should be a speech for the Opening and Closing Ceremony by the Head ORganizer, which would most likely be me, as well as some form of entertainment?

These is a tentative schedule for the Games. We can discuss and change them if needed:

Opening Ceremony (1 day)
- Region Opened
- Teams Distributed
- Delegate Speech

First Challenge (3 days)
- Teams Submit Flags (perhaps judges could be r3n, Mouse and Dali, unless they participate in the Games)
- Short Game (http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/g3/wings.htm)

Second Challenge (5 days)
- Scavenger Hunt

Third Challenge (3 days)
- Face Off

Closing Ceremony (1 day)
- Winner Proclaimed
- Awards Given
- Delegate Speech

Excellent itinerary. I've already found a Orisinal Game: http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/g3/wings.htm

Plus, last time, there were 3 judges for the flags: Astariel, Todd McCloud, and Milograd.

I'm thinking of Mousebumbles, HMS Unicorn, and Dalimbar for the next set of judges.

Unless some of them participate in the Games, they are excellent choices. What about the second challenge?

I propose Scavenger Hunt. But, if we do that, it'll be the most work probably.
#7

How about you post here the details of the Scavenger Hunt and we see if it can be done?

Excellent plan.

1. We create 5-15 puppets, and spread them throughout NS, preferably staying away from raiders.
People will get the name and clue of of the first one, and from there, they'll have to look around NS for the next nation.
2. For the clue, if we are going to use several regions, then we use that in the clue as well, so they can figure everything out.
Plus, we should name the nations something off of Wikipedia that is slightly common, so for the clue, we would just have to paraphrase the description of the nation off of Wikipedia.

My ideas on Scavenger Hunt.

That sounds good to me. We just need to make sure that teams can actually finish the challenge in five days at most. Can you and Salax check the time thing, and perhaps also start thinking about the puppet names and the clues?

Yeah. I'll create half of the puppets, but my activity level will decrease immensely starting on Monday. High School will take a large toll on me.
