I will be asking the same question to all candidates, and I would appreciate an honest answer. Anyone that bluffs this question off by trying to be polite will not be getting my vote.

What do you think are the strengths and weaknesses of each of your opposition candidates campaigns?

Thanks

Thank you for the question, I will answer when I return from work Smile

A new GCR is formed. It is a feeder, and you are the only government official available to respond to it. You notice the feeder within the hour and happen to be free all day - you are also aware that most of the rest of the cabinet will not be around for the rest of the day, if not for the next couple of days.

The GCR quickly attracts a small group of roughly organized people who identify themselves, on the RMB, as being from a non-descript non-NS related online community. A couple of representatives find the TSP IRC channel and are available to chat. Their IP addresses, should you check them, are reliable ISPs and unknown to you.

It quickly seems that they have a tenuous grasp on the WAD - they far exceed any endos picked up by any ragtag WA members, but could quickly be dislodged by a concerted effort from almost any GCR or UCR military (say, a half-dozen to a dozen). They have no forum set up, but do have an IRC channel with multiple OPs and a clear OP hierarchy.

You seem to be the only major GCR politician at the time, and no prominent gameplayers are in their IRC channel.

What do you do?

Thank you for your question.  I do think that we have a strong pool of candidates running for MoRA.  Kris is fresh off of a successful delegate bid, Punchwood and I are crazy/brave enough to run against the person with arguably the highest amount of political capital in TSP at the moment.

All three campaigns are running off something different.

I'll start with Punchwood.  What I love about his campaign is that it's filled with a measurable, actionable agenda.  We'll know at the end of his term if he hits his 400 member mark or not.

A weakness to consider is that unlike myself and Kris, he does not have as much of a record to run on.  You can't quite blame him for that though, because all of us started with running on no record.

Kris, is running on his record as a successful delegate that focused on Regional Affairs, but now wants to focus on only regional affairs.  And I think that is fine, but I do feel that this office needs a bit of a jolt of energy.  I think Regional Affairs is going to stay mostly the same under Kris as it is now, at least structurally.

But what I really want to focus on is myself.  I am in a way running on a record of my success as well.  My first time as delegate, I brought TSP from being known as an isolationist feeder into the fold of the international community again.  It didn't end as I planned, but I also feel my finest moments of leadership was post-Sedge coup.  I had a lot of pressure to declare martial law until some time passed, but I instead pursued with business as usual that ended with a new generation of leadership emerging and election reform.  I have been a pretty constant force in the region since, alternating between supporting others and taking the lead.  My goal for this term is taking the lead at supporting others.  Building leadership in the community is of critical importance to me and my biggest goal.

My next term as Delegate, my major campaigning point was the rights of citizens, and during the bulk of that delegate term was focused on passing the bill of rights.  My term as MoA lead a defunct army into one that could carry out offensive and defensive operations.  I am proud of all of these moments, and while I even agree with Kris that I don't have a record of RA to run on that he does, I do believe translate the success I have had as delegate and MoA into being MoRA.

My major weakness, as I address earlier is that I do not have much role play experience, but I plan to have someone on my staff take a lead on role playing.

And before you accuse me of this being a cop out, I said this to Kris before you asked this question, I think its an honor to be on the ballot with these two.  All three of us have presented our visions to the region and all three of them have merit.  I think it is a matter of what direction TSP wants to go in.

As someone running for MoRA, I do not think it would be within my elected mandate to take action in that instance.

I would prepare a cabinet debrief of the information I saw, I would probably engage in conversation with the members in IRC.  I would bring it to the attention of any senior SPSF members online, and I would wait for the Delegate, MoA, and MoFA to handle responsibility that falls within their elected mandates.

Once the cabinet was discussing the issue, I would advocate non-intervention.  Once we take military action, we are responsible for the outcome of a fledgling community, and I think our focus should be more domestic. If the cabinet chose not to agree with me, I would act within support of the cabinet.

I want to say that you have run a superb campaign, Bellz.

It has been an honor to work for and with you during my 4 years in this region, and I think you have always had a lot to offer this stupendous region. Your experience speaks for itself, and your answers to the questions asked have been exceptional.

I am proud to say that you will have my vote this election!

Thank you HEM, I greatly appreciate your words of support and endorsement. Good luck in your election as well Smile

I hope my campaign resonated with others as well. I know my history in the region is long and what I've done can get confusing but I'm glad to answer any more questions.

I hope my excitement for this opportunity was evident in my campaign. I hope my vision of expanded community positions and leadership development resonate with the voters of this region.

I am proud of my ideas I put forth, and with my track record of success in office I hope for the chance to implement my vision.

Above all, I am proud to take part in a free election in the oldest democratic feeder government once again. A place where your voice is heard by simply speaking up.

Let's work together to continue that tradition and leave TSP in a place where our democracy is even stronger next term.

Thanks for reading all my posts, for asking questions and I hope to have your vote.

Congratulations to the new cabinet, especially our new MoRA Kris.

Thank you everyone who took the time to read my platform and who voted for me. Obviously I was hoping for a tighter race, but I am still very proud of my campaign and the ideas that I put forth. I hope that the new cabinet will take to heart some of the values that my campaign stood for and understand that these ideas reflect the desires of 25% of the voting population. I believe that the expansion of the cabinet members staff outside of the traditional minister and deputy is critically important, especially in this environment where we just have a lot of politically active people with great vision who just lost an election. Please consider reaching out to others and help them learn what it takes to run a ministry.

I also hope that those of you who were dismissive about my campaign (or any campaign against Kris) see the value in why it is important to step up to the plate and outline your vision. I think the defeatism mentality of that there is no point of running against established politicians is a destructive one. Despite running against a popular incumbent delegate who is one of the most visible in TSP, I am proud to have been able to capture 25% of the vote. HEM also ran a nail biting campaign against Unibot. And last but not least Tsu won an election for delegate against a popular Vice Delegate. I hope that from this that more of you will be more optimistic in the future when it comes to candidates running against incumbents.

Anyways, congratulations once again to the winners, and to my fellow losers, heads up, we'll get em next time Wink

You ran a good campaign. I respect that, and would be happy to have you in the team, if you want. Smile
