Repeal of War Declarations
#51

Again, we already repealed the "war" and nothing in the agreement requires us to help with anything if we "can't." This is just a symbolic gesture -- an effort to place nice.

We should have interregional commitments in our books just as "symbolic gestures". Either the alliance is valuable or it isn't. If it isn't valuable, then the logic step is to repeal it.

Not if the "logic" behind it is telling a group of regions we want nothing to do with them.

If we want to go down this road, have we done anything with the TRR since we passed the alliance? How about Laz? Or TNP? These are all symbolic since there is nothing in any of these treaties "requiring" us to do ish other than not flat-out attack the other region.

I really don't understand why this is causing that much trouble. All I'm suggesting is that we connect with the people who are part of this coalition and not make rash judgements about the "value" of the alliance. It's my hope that they see it hasn't been used/useful lately and understand. We don't need to single-handedly dissolve it without discussion.

I realize recent history has been to act with regard to foreign policy and be surprised when our actions have consequences, but, I think we can do better than that.

I don't know much about the history of the Lazarus or TRR alliances, but as far as I can see the alliance with TNP has been quite significant. NPA and SPSF have had joint operations including one a couple months ago, TNP was fully supportive during the 2013 conflict here, and of course there was a pretty big christmas cultural event in 2012 (which also included Osiris). (On the flip side, TSP did apparently deploy forces to assist TNP during my... extended inactivity as Delegate in late 2012 :-$)

Before we keep going on about repealing this last declaration, can we get some sort of confirmation as to what other regions specifically signed it as well as their opinion on the matter?

Thank for this. My intent wasn't to suggest any of them are insignificant -- in fact, much the opposite. My point was just that we don't active alliances everyday.

I don't know what qft means, but consulting with those who signed it might help put things in perspective.

It's quoted for truth, basically I agree 100%
