Job Numbers

We could just scrap the cabinet, elections, what have you and just let the Delegate decide how things work. Or we can put a lot of names into a hat and pick people out at random from one hat and match it with a job title from a second hat, again picked at random.

If this is the situation, couldn't we just put it in campaign threads who will be designated the deputy? And -- maybe -- declare a line of succession?

I mean, theoretically speaking, if two people were to be co-MoA, what happens if one person gets recalled? Then it is the remainder the sole minister? Is that fair to the citizens who voted for the ticket and might not support the minister singularly?

I think for practical purposes there should only be one, BUT the person running can run with other people on their ticket/staff.

You should definitely wear that hat. We can pick some hats up from the second chance hat store down Fudgie Avenue!

Sorry but for TSP this is a strange policy; we use FPTP so a joint ticket makes things even less fair and democratic. Unless we change, our voting system to STV there should only be one person elected to the cabinet. If you are wondering yes that means I believe both Delegate and Vice Delegate should be voted in separately.

Right - they could share power effectively. Trying to enshrine joint candidacies in law would be too complicated.

Personally I think it's legally permitted at present.

So, let's fix the wording so no one can misconstrue it or misuse it to justify joint candidacies. There's a reason we have deputies. Ministers choose the deputies. When a Minister is recalled or resigns, the deputy doesn't get to be minister without an election. It makes sense and works.

I would support this. If the minister resigns there should be elections not automatic succession to the deputy.
