Guidelines to Resident Spotlights
#1

Resident Spotlight Guidelines

Each person can have only one Resident Spotlight. While it is fine to interview the same person multiple times, each person can have only one interview called Resident Spotlight, because the point of Spotlights is to introduce them to the region at large. When in doubt, check the Hall of Resident Spotlights and make sure that that person you want to interview doesn't already have a Spotlight.

It is your responsibility to find people to Spotlight. You need to been on the look for new people to interview, instead of just waiting for your Director to assign you someone to interview. Try to find at least one potential person to interview per week, so that we keep a constant influx of interviews to publish, without long periods of inactivity in between Spotlights.

Try to accommodate the wishes of the person being interviewed. Whenever someone agrees to be Spotlighted, ask where they would like to conduct the interview. Possible mediums as telegrams, forum personal messages, IRC or somewhere else. The idea is for that person to be comfortable with how they are being treated, and maybe to become more active in the region, if they aren't already active.

Ask interesting questions. The idea of Spotlights is to let the region know the person you are interviewing, so try to ask questions that will accomplish just that. Classic examples are asking how they found NationStates, what are their favourite movies, their opinion on cake and pie. However, don't be afraid to think out of the box, and ask questions that are interesting and you think people will enjoy reading the answers to.

Share your ideas. If you have a cool idea for a special interview with someone, or suggestions on how to make Spotlights better, or even an idea that has nothing to do with Resident Spotlights, don't be afraid to suggest it. All the big projects in the Ministry came into being because someone thought them, so the next big thing might well be an idea of yours!

Posts outside High Court venues should be taken as those of any other legislator.
I do not participate in the regional server, but I am happy to talk through instant messaging or on the forum.
