Dependable, Experienced, & Putting TSP FIRST | GR for MoFA

I honesty don't see any reason why we would approach TNI in the first place. I think that ship sailed a long time ago.

Does anybody have any more questions?

Why are you running, out of all positions, for Minister of Foreign Affairs? What motivates you to go specifically for Foreign Affairs?

I'm running because I think we need somebody right now at the helm of the ministry who knows what they're doing, had a proven track record, and doesn't overreact emotionally in disagreements. I think this last Cabinet didn't accomplish much in foreign affairs due in large part to a lackluster Minister.

When I announced after my third term that I wouldn't run again for another consecutive one, I had hoped a newcomer would come in and prove themselves. Unfortunately, that's not what happened. This time around, I saw that it probably wasn't going to happen again. After Raven's abrupt resignation, I think we need somebody who can repair any damage there is and address things that went unaddressed during his tenure. (For example, there wasn't a lot of engagement with our allies, as far as I can tell.) So I feel like it's the right decision for me to step up to the plate for this election.

I guess my question was more directed at the reasons why you like foreign affairs in the first place. Why not continue going for CoA or try some other position? I wanted to get some insight into what you like about foreign affairs, particularly since I remember you were quite engaged in that since Day 1. I already know you will do a fantastic job as MoFA, so right now I'm more interested in knowing the why.

I guess it's what drew me into this part of NS, really. I was mostly arguing playing in the World Assembly, until Unibot bugged me enough to get into defending. I wasn't ever much of a good defender, but I had a knack for the politics of it all. I like foreign affairs in NS because it's the driver of a lot of dynamics. I think things would be boring if regions just isolated themselves and never interacted. Gameplay politics is like a never-ending competition between a bunch of changing factions, and I find that entertaining. Tounge

You should vote for me because I have proven myself competent for the job and dedicated to our region. You know that if you vote for me, you'll be voting for somebody you can trust is working for TSP and will try his hardest to accomplish all the goals set out at the beginning of the term.

I know we've discussed this before, but is there any way you think we can get people involved — so a newcomer could run for MoFA?

Looking at RA, there has been a great success at getting people involved and Raven attempted too, but I don't think the effort really took off. I'm just wondering if there's something more that could be done to facilitate growth in the department.

I'm not sure it's the right place to look for growth. MoRA offers more accessibility. I look at foreign affairs as a more skills-based job that serves a necessity, rather than an avenue to draw in player activity.

If somebody shows an interest in inter-regional affairs and Gameplay politics, I'd like to bring them on as a deputy. As far as fostering that interest, I would encourage people to pay attention to the Gameplay forum and the debates that happen there. Participate in them, read the newspapers and interviews and the like. And if that stuff sparks an interest, come talk to me about it and we'll see where we can fit you in.

Would you be willing to pen a brief guide of where a player should start if they were interested in FA? It's hard to find things sometimes so having a guide would be helpful along with links.
