Let's talk about our host
#191

On what basis are you questioning it, Hileville? I can point you to the thread that went completely unanswered. I can point you to other support threads where other users are told that the anti-spam system won't be changed.

You have no reason to not believe what I'm saying. Maybe political reasons, though.

This is ridiculous. I'm not an idiot. I know how to run a forum. I troubleshooted all issues. I have a local copy running just fine. I contacted both MyBB devs and x10 support.

I'm sick of this nonsense with people asking for the database as if they know something I don't. I've told you exactly what the issue is.

Either way. Break the hell out of it. They're looking harder now. https://community.x10hosting.com/threads...ost-941378

QD you're asking about the wrong things entirely. 503 errors are Internal Server Errors, and of course they want to fix those because that means something is wrong with the server configuration. What we're having issues with are 403 errors, which are being caused by the anti-spam system intentionally. There are rules in place that block requests that include too many links too close together, certain AJAX requests, etc.

Edit: I should also note that when we experience 503 errors and "MyBB Internal" errors, it is because x10 is doing server maintenance. That maintenance is almost always unannounced.

At some point, either you want to get the host problems solved, or you don't. If by page 19 you haven't made up your mind, then I don't know what else you expect us to do.

What I expect is that we listen to the region.

I'll point out that by page 19 we already had a vote and it was rejected. You don't get to re-vote because it inconvenienced you.

That's not how democracy. And that's not how TSP works.

We need to find something else. Not shove an unpopular solution onto the region.

Can people lay out all the possible plans but in terms that make sense to non-specialists?

Are these the options?
1. Move to Zetaboards and lose all the current stuff
2. GR hosts on something so nothing changes except the service?
3. Hobbes and QD want access to the server to try to fix it?
4. Unknown?

It's basically:

1) Zeta (where we'd lose everything)
2) Move to Digital Ocean on GR's server (where we'd just change the addy)
3) Wait to see if x10 can fix it
4) Something we haven't figured out yet.

People still use 10 posts per page? I changed to 50 long ago, much more user friendly. Although maybe that is one of those things that can't be changed right now.

Same here.

On Tapatalk, one can't change it from 10 posts per page.

Why was the original shot down?

Tsu, I don't think it's all that unreasonable to vote on the same thing again. Some here are voting based on politics and not a genuine concern with the technical problems we're having. People did that last time, as well, and at least one of those people is no longer a citizen.

It's worth giving it another shot. I'm not sure what more discussion there is to have. Hileville went from thinking we just needed more time, to having concerns over finances, to flat out calling me a liar about everything. We've tried having actual discussions. Those who voted against have still not come forward to reach an understanding.

People who are voting against, what alternatives/concerns do you have?
