So, I've been throwing this around in my head, and I've come to the conclusion that we could use a new flag contest. Not only will it help to stimulate the game side community, along with LC elections, but it can also assist in recruitment for the SPSF in terms of regional pride.

Ideas about this?

I really liked Bel's flag contest. I think we should do it for a limited time, but otherwise I like it.

Is this something we should toss to Feir or get the local council to work on when elected?

Either I would guess.

Did we get any candidates for the Local Council?

I think it could be a bit of fun.

We only have one in Sam1111/SJS Republic.

I have two interested parties if they sign up for citizenship. I was also thinking TSSS might be a great person to have on the council (and I think he has citizenship).

When Bel ran the flag contest, people created a flag and then to "vote" others used the same flag. I thought it worked pretty well and something similar would probably drive participation.

I was nominated, but I'm not sure I'm running for something to start with and I would have to give up my deputy job. I wanted to ask you tsu who nominated me?

I'm going to bump this. I think having a region wide Flag contest could be really cool. I have always liked it when we have done them in the past. We always get a few interesting submissions. You never know we might get something that we really like.

To that end, I suggest we could use the method New Zealand is currently using to decide upon a new flag.

1. Get the community to submit a list of words that they think best represents the region
2. Get people to design flags based on the words most picked to represent the region
3. Vote on all designs and choose the design with the most votes
4. Put the proposed flag to a vote vs the current flag (optional)
