Socialism versus Capitalism

I will echo this time and time again until I die. If this one statement were true, I would be a hardcore capitalist. But it's not true, hence my hatred of it.

For me, this is true. Where else would you get money?!

What about those people who have multiple jobs while trying to find enough time to help their kids with homework, and still earn much less than a manager at a tech company? Does their reduced income mean they didn't work hard enough?

Your logic is completely ridiculous, and based on a theoretical view of capitalism. Yes, I fully agree that we need the free market, but to argue that people earn what they deserve is completely naive at best, and a potentially dangerous line of thought to society.

No, they did work, but the managers direct the company, right? It is only fair they get something. They are leaders. They got there by years of studying and hard work.

And who knows, they might progress in the future. Or at least their kids. If they want to progress. They can get a scholarship if they are smart enough. And they can progress.

And after all those years of hard work and studying, maybe one day they can rest and earn more, like they are supposed to. Those who work hard and study can progress. And those who care more about being the "cool" kid at school and forget homework and don't care about a career can take a hike to fastfoodemployeeland.

I believe that those who are smart and can show it(basically, everyone is smart, but those who put that smartness to use will get to the top, maybe) will get to the top, or at least try. Those people are the ones society should be proud of. I think.

But those who literally can't reach the top, no matter how hard they try...

I feel proud of those people as well.

Managers direct small groups of workers. And it's the workers that largely conduct the main function of that conduct a major portion of the work that gets the company it's money.

And how did those managers get there?

Or friends in high places. Or bribery, though that's slightly unrealistic. Or corruption. Or exploitation of the system.

Those are also answers. But still, I don't believe in communism. The idea of forced sharing is ridiculous.

If I owned a business, then its mine. Its my property, and those who I employ are subject to my rules(although with some government rules like minimum wage, etc.). After all, it is my company, not theirs. Did they plan the success? Did they start it, and helped it grow? Only the last statement is true. But who started it? Me. Who planned the success? Me. And for what?

For progress.

So greed and a system rigged for the rich is better than a system designed for everyone to be equal?

Designed? Yes
In practice? Horrifying. It lowers standard of living, and it makes government corruption a piece of cake.

The only way that communism could be good is that there is no central command structure.

But I prefer progressing ahead of others, and getting to the top, or at least trying. It makes my life full of hope and accomplishment. Not a life that I say "Oh, I worked for society and I was like everyone else: a worker. A worker who did nothing significant in his life, or tried to do something significant. I was everyone, and I had no hope of progressing ahead"
