"Fisherman" took off the runner's mask. He smiled. "Sword, I think we found the bastard," he said. "Look closely," replied "Sword". "Fisherman" looked at the photo of von Mayer he had for identification purposes. After a few moments, he cursed.

"God dammit! It's a f*****g double!"

He turned to the DIADS agents. "Is there a place where we can interrogate him?"

Is there a second plane that DIADS is aware of?

Furtive-looking men in trench coats and briefcases have begun loitering in Darkstrait's airport terminals, just in case Von Mayer turns up.

Sporaltryus has required the screening of all air travelers into the country.

DIADS has opened an interview room in the agency's Sydney office for Karnetvorian authorities to use in interviewing the double. Unfortunately, DIADS was only aware of the one plane.

All aircraft coming in from TIK or Kringalia are being checked for Von Mayer. We are also closely monitoring all aircraft coming into the country from any country.

Our match has revealed that he too is a double, but that the real one must be in neutral territory. We propose Laiwan or possibly Bruuma as his current location.

We confirm that there is only one plane. We are considering Laiwan as von Mayer's probable location. We doubt he is in Bruuma; von Mayer (and the NPK in general) is completely anti-socialist. Hundreds or even thousands of pro-socialist individuals were arrested during the Nationalist era.

Interrogation Room, DIADS HQ, Sydney, Qvait
"Fisherman" and "Sword" entered the room. It had a table, and three chairs. The double, now identified as Viktor Aksyonov, was sitting on a chair. Both agents sat in front of the double. "Sword" was the first to speak;

"Mr. Aksyonov, we're agents of the NIA. We are going to ask you a series of questions. We know you acted as a body double for notorious war criminal Trent von Mayer, responsible for five years of oppresive dictatorship, and the bloodiest war our country has ever seen. Did you do this voluntarily?"

The double refused to speak. "Fisherman" gave him a warning:

"I suggest you speak, sir. Remember, you have helped a war criminal escape punishment. If you don't cooperate, there will be serious consequences".
"Alright," said the double.
"Answer the question"
"Yes, I did it voluntarily"
"Why?" said "Sword".
"He offered a hundred thousand dollars to anybody willing to be his double, and I had serious economic problems. I had been a member of the NPK before the war, so he thought he could trust me."
"Very well. Now, did von Mayer escape Qvait?" asked Fisherman.
"Yes"
"Did he escape by plane?"
"No"
"Do you know where he is?"
"Yes"
"OK, tell us where is he, and how did he got there"

The double hesitated.

"You can tell us, or you can spend a long time in a federal prison. You decide," warned Sword.
"Alright. He had planned to escape Qvait for RATSPT for months, but everything changed when the Gazette revealed his hiding place"

"Von Mayer met with some friends he had in Stockholm, most of them local ultranationalists and anticommunists. There were some Karnetvorian expatriates too, including me. I think a security camera took a photo of the meeting"
"So, the Gazette's photo is genuine?" asked Sword.
"Yep. We decided to put me in a plane bound for TIK as a decoy. We landed in various cities so nobody could follow us. Crown Heights was one of them. Then, we left to TIK, where the plane was intercepted"
"And the real von Mayer?" Asked Fisherman, impacient.
"He decided not to go to RATSPT because it would be too obvious. He went north, using a car."
"Where."
"Initially, he wanted to go to Ryccia, but due to its instability, he went to Ryccia's neighbor instead."
"Laiwan?"
"Yes."

The International Knights would not trifle with this matters, but we will keep an open eye. We promise that if we do detain him, we would not: "Milk out any information."
