Election commission
#11

We can't even get candidates for our current elections and you want more positions? We have 3 admins and at least one of them should be able to do them (with the exception of Local Council which inherently must be done by the delegate).

Agree with Far. If there's not enough candidates for elections for the cabinet, then we shouldn't go creating more positions.

Id support an election commission like we formerly had, if there's some who aren't going to run, and would still like to serve. And if it were a semi-perminate position.

Or we could just let admins continue running elections, since it works just fine.

I'm very much on the fence on this one. However, in terms of the proposal would it make sense to amend as follows:

Quote:Article 4 - Election Commission

1. Elections will be run by an appointed election commissioner.
2. The election commissioner will be selected by the Assembly, with a vote of 60% approval.
3. The election commissioner will run all elections during his/her term.
3. The election commissioner shouldmust refrain from running for office in any of the elections she is running.
4. Election commissioner terms will last four months and start on the first of March, July and December.

It just strikes me as a fundamental incompatibility between being a candidate and the election commissioner and I'm not sure 'should' is a strong enough word.

I have to agree with Far and Kris. We lack an acceptable number of people to fill what we already have. Adding more seats to fill will only worsen the issue.

It's a good idea however with activity down right now I don't think we should have another job slot. However in the future when numbers go up again I think it could be possible.

I'd like to point out again that if the terms are supposed to be four months, the third one should start in November, not December.

Also, should something like this be implemented, I'd be happy to serve as election commissioner; messing around with numbers is something I actually enjoy. Tounge
