We are in favor of the accession. We believe that Noctenos will be an asset to this organization, and that we offer them a chance to enter the international community.

Members of the United Front,

First of all, I would like to express our utmost gratitude in having been allowed a chance to speak before you. It truly is an opportunity unparalleled for our nation.

The Dominion of Noctenos has just recently come out of a period of isolationism and crass civil conflicts, and as such it is our head priority to establish diplomatic ties and alliances that may allow us to grow and prosper in peace as an unified nation. These are unsettling times, not only in Noctenos but all over The South Pacific, yet they can also provide many wonders, and this only strengthens our resolve to affiliate ourselves with members of the international community.

In terms of military, while ours may not be as great as some of the member countries', it would still make a significant difference if push came to shove and international military aid became a necessity. Of course, we and our people would much prefer peaceful resolutions - we've had enough of war to last more than a few lifetimes.

Noctenos currently stands atop one of the richest and most varied ore deposits in the known world, providing mineral resources beyond comparison. According to estimates, we have more than $2.7 trillion in mineral reserves waiting to be mined, processed and exported.

Precious Metals such as gold and platinum; Base Metals such as aluminium and copper; Steel Raw Materials such as cobalt and titanium; Minor Metals such as magnesium and tantalite; Industrial Minerals such as potash and phosphate; Energy Minerals such as uranium oxide and crude oil. While most of the deposits are still untouched, a great part of these minerals are actively mined and processed within our country, overflowing supply without much demand. Noctenos mostly operates its commerce on a Laissez-faire policy, and as such all we need are clients willing to buy minerals at fairly low prices. Our industry, however, is obviously not all-encompassing, and we are looking for nations that may export the products and resources we currently need. The economic incentives and objectives of the United Front simply present opportunities we should not ignore, and that, if ratified within Noctenos as well, would be beneficial for all of us.

Germano Gruenewald,
Noctenos' representative to the United Front.

Darkstrait has an excellent chemical industry that needs raw materials constantly. Mutual trade would benefit both parties hugely.

As the Charter does not stipulate any time minimum for discussion, we motion this to a vote.

Article 1, Section 2.1, Subsection 3 says otherwise. If you wish to change this, which I would support, it may be addressed on 02 September as stipulated in Article 7, Section 1.
