There are better and more futuristic designs, but I have a problem with them.

1. They are sited in isolated areas

2. They are in enclosed dome-like structures, in which the Lux Universus's one, is not enclosed

3. A bit too obvious, not giving a wow factor.

So, the observatory is going to be something like this. Though it looks like something Vernian and Steampunk, it is well equipped with the latest technologies in stargazing and astronomy. Well incorporated with computer interfaces and modernised scopes. The design is steampunk so that it could blend in with the Lux Universus's somewhat ancient architecture.

Oh, and there are many green plants and bookcases around the giant scope.
