Capitalism has, repeatedly, thrown economies into chaos. The least you can say for communism is that the standard of living doesn't change much.

The most you can say for it would be that it's the perfect, ideal, utopian society. (I don't say this, because I'm not a communist. I consider myself to be a democratic socialist, which is in no way the same thing.)

Although both systems are flawed to some extent, capitalism is worse.

I consider it to be the entire opposite. I would rather reach for the top for me and my family. I don't want to help a complete stranger. I rather help my loved ones.

And although it seems ideal, I want more. More in my life. The most I can get.

A life I, not the community, can enjoy. For myself.

I don't care if Im greedy. I want to live life to the fullest.

So you'd turn your back on morality and ethics?

As long as I live a good life. And hey, I can help others. But that's my choice. Mine alone. Not the community's. I don't want to be a slave of the community.

So you're justifying doing whatever it takes to get yourself to the top, even if it means letting others who are not so lucky starve?

No. All people should be equal. It may not be great, but it's better than what you're describing.

Hey! Im not THAT extreme! I get to the top, but I wouldn't leave a starving person behind!

But not all people should be equal. What about a lazy person who does not work? Do I have to share my food with that person? No!

All are equal. Sacrifices must be made with both sides, with capitalism, it is the abandonment of morals and the establishment of greed.

Meh, as long as I have a life where I decide how much I spend, how much I eat, how much I (insert other consumption here).

In communism, Im restricted. Restricted. I don't want to be restricted.

I want to be free.

And also, state your manifesto. What you believe in, etc. I'll see if I agree with you on something. Take your time, please.

Socialism versus Capitalism - ProfessorHenn - 05-06-2015

You first, I need some time to refine it.

For me, this is my manifesto:
  • The people should own businesses. If you can start one, then good job!
  • Those who can get to the top in an honest way should be rewarded, while those who did get to the top by killing people or something else should not
  • Companies are free to do what they want in their company(is theirs, after all), but with some regulations like minimum wage and all that stuff
  • Those who are too poor to get private healthcare should get public, free healthcare
  • Those who are just genuinely poor should be helped by the government, and when they are ready on their own, then that help should stop(free healthcare, education, etc.)
  • The free market is needed
  • People should be free to think however they like
  • Those who can sustain themselves can choose how much they buy
  • Tax the rich more, but not in an exaggerated way
  • No redistribution of wealth. Those who get their wealth should keep it
  • Business > art(art is a waste of time). However, business = theater, business = acting, business = entertainment, etc. It entertains people and there's an industry of it.
  • No explotation of the worker, in a capitalist moderate way(work hour limits, vacations, fair pay, etc.)
  • No representation of the worker in a company decision, as the company owners well, own the company
  • No monopolies. There should be a competition in what you buy
  • Food is a basic right, and those who are too poor must be helped by the government on obtaining it
  • Leaders of companies should be paid more by liderating the company. What chaos will there be if leaderless companies work without a common goal? However, their salary can't be so inflated, unless if you started the company
  • Censorship of the media and anything should not be allowed
  • A person has rights to private property and to start a business
  • What do I think about that McDonalds movement of $15 an hour? Ridiculous on the $15 an hour part, however they do have the right to unionize, as long as they don't start a revolution or something
  • Wealth should be inherited. You worked so long to give your family the rich life they deserve and then suddently the government seizes your assets at your death, leaving a part or nothing to your family? Injustice!
  • Sharing is a choice, not an obligation. That means that you are not forced to share your wealth with a bunch of strangers
  • No to corruption
  • Authority over a person:
    Individual > community
  • Social security: good, however it should not be abused
  • The government can't own everyone's assets

Ask me my opinions on other things, if that does not clarify my beliefs
