You went into Sporaltryus to take care of the nukes, and found it was much easier to defend your border along a little line inside my territory, and given the fighting along our border earlier in the year, no doubt, I doubt Resentine would give up such a tactical advantage.

Don't see why it'd be any tactically easier than fighting on the current border, where static defenses are already in place.
