RE: [OOC] Flash News - VPRB - 01-27-2018 I feel the need to point out that, since all RP interactions have an outcome that is based on the players involved agreeing on it, the weapons used in the RP have no more than a flavour value. You could win a battle against me with sticks and stone if I agree with it; on reverse, you could built a Death Star and fire on my island but if I don't roll with it it simply doesn't happen. Bottom line: wheter you develop chem weapons or not has no influence on the results you will get in the course of the war. That said, if you want them for lore reason you should definitely get them, knowing that it will have of course effects in RP. Bruuma being an evil dictatorship for example means that nobody will question my using of chem weapons - since they already think I'm evil - but it also meant that nobody joined my side in the war and all joined Erinor. RE: [OOC] Flash News - Ryccia - 01-27-2018 Can I kill POWs, then? [OOC] Flash News - Seraph - 01-27-2018 Ryccia being ostracised for using chemical weapons is not only realistic, it also makes a damn good story. It's worth remembering that RPing is not gaming in any traditional sense, but collaborating in a work of fiction. There are gaming elements to it, but, in a good RP, failure, or the experience of unintended consequences, can be as rewarding as any traditional notion of "success", so long as your focus is on telling the story, not on "winning". If you are going to expel diplomats from Ryccia, we will represent you. RE: [OOC] Flash News - GI-Land - 01-27-2018 I'll see how the whole thing develops and if kinda "negative", I'll know of your support and trust, we got strong partners on our side. RE: [OOC] Flash News - Ryccia - 01-27-2018 Nah, I'd rather win. It is necessary. Ryccia has been humiliated so badly, that another loss would result in civil war on a worst-case scenario. RE: [OOC] Flash News - Seraph - 01-27-2018 I mean, that's a story reason, which is fine, so long as you understand that your allies being really unhappy about it is also a story response. Sent from my KOB-L09 using Tapatalk RE: [OOC] Flash News - Ryccia - 01-28-2018 I also want to win OOCly. It is time I had a win for once. A chance to finally achieve what I've always wanted: power RE: [OOC] Flash News - Seraph - 01-28-2018 Bearing in mind, that, as VPRB already stated, in an RP like this the only way to achieve that is through the consent of other RPers. And, even if you do achieve it, it doesn't mean it will be viewed favourably by other nations. Take the US as an example in real life, a nation whose quest for global power and influence (and I'm not necessarily implying malevolence in that) is nervertheless not very popular in large swathes of the world and even its allies often have sizeable portions of their populations with strong anti-American sentiment (in the sense of the US government or foreign policy, not necessarily personally). And this was true long before Trump. Work towards a win, by all means, but it will have to be believable for other players to consent to it and it may still have ramifications with Ryccia's foreign relations. Let's note that funnelling money into war production sometimes means economic infrastructure ends up in disarray. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
