Tsu, I am not trying to blame you. Understandably you have a lot going on right now, and other situations rightly must take priority. My point was that the lack of communication could indeed be one of the reasons why we haven't had much participation from the region, and taking care of that in future elections could solve the problem, without a need for legislative changes.

RE: Changes to Local Council - Escade - 04-12-2015

I would be fine with adding resident as in WA resident (I think people like Bear Connors for example might be interested).

RE: Changes to Local Council - Hopolis - 04-14-2015

I was pretty sceptical about the citizenship requirement for the Local Council from the start. I would be in favour of changing it to WA resident (as Escade suggested) rather than citizen and maybe linking it with a publicity drive once approved to encourage others to come forward.

Since this for a representative for the RMB, why not advertise the position and what it intails on the WFE for a bit, then open nominations and have the vote on the RMB? Since the RMB crowd doesn't come here mostly, we're making a "For Sale" sign to sell a house and putting it up in the basement instead of the front yard.

I don't see why we couldn't include residents as candidates, but I do think more could be done to advertise elections too.

Like this and this?

Have you sent out a mass telegram, Tsu?

RE: Changes to Local Council - Kris Kringle - 04-14-2015

He sent a mass telegram 1-2 days ago.

The TG was sent a bit after the nomination period. And, at that time, I had two interested members — both of who I had to send to the forums to apply for citizenship.

I don't see why that isn't a bad turnout (I expected better). We need three to fill the seats of the Local Council members.
