Capital punishment is morally wrong and economically wrong.

Reasons why the Death Penalty is f**ked up.

1. 4% of all Death Row inmates in the US who were executed were innocent.
2. There is no credible evidence that the Death Penalty is a deterrent to violent crime.
3. In California alone since 1978 it has cost $4 billion to keep the Death Penalty. Equalling to $308 million per execution. There have only been 13 executions in California since 1978.
4. It costs up to ten times more to execute someone than to give them life imprisonment.
5. The Lord of the Rings trilogy's budget was $281 million. It costs more to execute someone in California than to create an epic film trilogy.

There are just some of the reasons why it's a horrible thing. However you must ultimately answer yourselves this question:

If someone is found guilty of a horrible crime and the family of the victim want the perpetrator executed do you want to live in the kind of country that gives that to them?

Most of Europe has abolished capital punishment, all but Belarus. The United States needs to follow suit.

I favour keeping capital punishment. Because in Indonesia, it wasn't enacted, and therefore, people are being imprisoned for a very short amount of time.

Embezzlement of trillions of rupiah is only punishable to a couple of years, and murder is punishable to a couple of years as well. They are not being stacked up.

Well that's just stupid. There's no life sentences?

Thank god that in Puerto Rico there is no capital punishment. Capital punishment is immoral and ineffective.

And your country should get harsher sentences for those crimes.

We can discuss about it all day… But I prefer not to.

Execution for drug trafficking? Mon dieu! What barbarity of that government!

Yes, drug trafficking is bad, but not deserves-to-be-shot in-firing-squad bad!

Edit: Oh, just learned that Indonesia commonly uses firing squad for death sentences.

What the?! That is brutal by modern day standards!

There needs to be a reform! That is just too brutal!
(Not an offense for you, Hammer).

A bullet is cheaper than the drugs for lethal injection...
