It's ironic if you think about it. The Democratic Party is "all about fairness" and they are just giving the nomination to Clinton without considering Sanders, O'Malley, Chafee, or Webb.

I believe a lot of Swedes would like to see someone elected who promotes social welfare and a social policy more in line with its own. Europe as a whole would probably like someone with a more "confrontational" attitude towards Russia. Among most European countries there is a continuing irrational trend of cutting back on the military despite there is now a nation that has for the first time in 70 years changed the map by military force. They rely on the USA for their own protection.

If I was the President of the United States, I would protect Europe with all my might, but this frustrates me. For so long, Europe has been dependent on the U.S. for solving its troubles. With China becoming more aggressive in the South China Sea and its cyber-hacking, I would greatly appreciate it if Europe can pick up the slack. Because, as a half-Filipino, I want to see the Philippines to be defended by the United States if China does something stupid over there.

I agree. Europe must take a much larger responsibility. It can, and it must.

To be fair, Europe can basically beat Russia if they all just stick together. Their combined economies and militaries can annihilate Russia if united.

RE: 2016 in America - Jay Coop - 09-17-2015

No, because China would get involved. Then, the United States. Then, World War III.

Ryccia, look up Tom Clacy's EndWar. It will pretty much say why there shouldn't be a USE(United States of Europe).

RE: 2016 in America - Ryccia - 09-17-2015

I meant if Russia begins to actually officially attack Ukraine, or Europe. USA can threaten China's economy, as both rely on each other.

Ouch.

2016 in America - ProfessorHenn - 09-17-2015

Russia won't be attacking Europe any time soon. NATO is a very real thing
